Experiences in Manuel Antonio

Manuel Antonio’s National Park is one of the country’s smallest and most popular with a stunning rainforest meets ocean setting. The clearly marked trails make the park easy to explore independently or hire a guide to help you spot the abundant wildlife hiding in the dense rainforest.  Due to its popularity the park does get very busy so it’s worth exploring early or later in the day to avoid the crowds.

Manuel Antonio is equally popular for its beautiful white sand beaches, three of which are within the park itself, and the coastal setting offers plenty of adventures on the water. Hire paddle boards, kayak through the mangroves of Damas Island or learn to catch a wave with a surf lesson on the beach!

An hour down the coast is Uvita, home to the Marino Ballena Marine National Park where pilot and humpback whales migrate each year to breed in the tropical waters. Take a whale watching tour to spot these incredible mammals along with the chance to see dolphins and turtles.
