Generally speaking, 3 or 4 days is recommended for the actual safari as you’ll have 2 game drives per day, each approximately 3 to 4 hours in length – this should be enough time to take in the majesty of your chosen safari destination. If you are looking to spend longer on safari, we recommend considering a second destination, perhaps where children can be more active eg take part in a walking safari. In addition, we also recommend that you spend some time exploring local cultural and scenic locations to ensure you make the most of your luxury family holiday.

Ideally, we recommend that you book 9 – 12 months in advance after flight bookings for your travel period have been released. However, depending on the size of your party, and whether you are bringing any small children with you on your African safari (so connecting accommodation is a must), you may want to secure your safari accommodation a little earlier.
