Itinerary
Day 1 | Fly to Denpasar Bali
Today commence your adventure with an overnight flight to Bali, perhaps breaking your journey in an Asian City en-route such as Singapore or Hong Kong, as flights are not direct.
Day 2 | Scenic transfer to Ubud
Your Indonesian adventure begins in Ubud, where vibrant traditions, captivating landscapes, and heartfelt hospitality set the stage for an unforgettable journey. Upon arrival at Denpasar Airport, you will be warmly welcomed before embarking on a scenic transfer to your hotel, a journey of approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic.
Day 3 | Explore Ubud, including The Monkey Forest and Art Markets
Today explore Ubud, including perhaps the Monkey Forest, managed in accordance with the Balinese Hindu philosophy of harmony between people, nature, and the spiritual world; it’s not only a wildlife sanctuary but also an important site of worship and conservation for the local community.
Then head to the local arts market, known locally known as Pasar Ubud. Filled with stalls selling handcrafted souvenirs, textiles, artwork, and local specialties, it offers a wonderful opportunity to experience Bali’s vibrant artisan culture and browse for unique keepsakes.
Day 4 | Rafting or E biking followed by an evening Firefly Experience or Traditional Dance Dinner
This morning opt for an adventure activity to explore beyond the town. Drive to the rafting base camp for an exhilarating adventure with rafting on Ayung River. Set off on an exhilarating white-water rafting journey through Bali’s lush tropical landscape. Navigate a series of exciting Grade II and III rapids, passing hidden waterfalls, dramatic gorges, and dense rainforest while enjoying a fun and scenic ride suitable for beginners and adventure seekers alike. Alternatively, if you prefer not to get wet, we can arrange for Ebiking through the paddy fields!
Later in the late afternoon at around 4 PM, discover the enchanting world of Bali’s fireflies during a memorable three- to four-hour experience. Begin with a scenic 20-minute walk to the Fireflies Conservation Centre, where you’ll learn about their life cycle, natural habitat, and local conservation efforts before exploring the surrounding area. Continue with a short hands-on cooking session or enjoy a live cooking demonstration, followed by a traditional dinner. The evening concludes with a peaceful firefly observation, where these tiny glowing insects create a magical display in their natural habitat.
Alternatively enjoy a memorable evening of with a traditional Balinese Rijsttafel at the iconic Café Lotus. Meaning “rice table,” a rijsttafel is a feast of numerous small Balinese dishes served alongside steamed rice, offering the perfect opportunity to sample a wide variety of the island’s authentic flavours in a single meal. Set beside the tranquil lotus pond and overlooking the elegant Pura Taman Saraswati, Café Lotus provides an enchanting setting that perfectly complements this culinary experience. Following dinner, take your seat for a captivating Balinese dance performance on Café Lotus’ open-air stage. Framed by the magnificent Pura Taman Saraswati temple, blooming lotus ponds, and the beautifully carved Kori Agung gateway, the performance brings Bali’s ancient legends and artistic traditions to life through graceful movements, elaborate costumes, and the mesmerizing rhythms of traditional gamelan music.
Day 5 | Set off to your island escape of choice
From Bali, continue your adventure to Lombok or the idyllic Gili Islands, travelling by fast boat across the sparkling waters of the Bali Strait. The journey is part of the experience, with glimpses of volcanic peaks, tropical islands and turquoise seas along the way as you leave Bali behind for a more laid-back island escape. Alternatively for Moyo, take your flight to Sumbawa Besar and boat to the Amanwana.
Day 6 | Relax in paradise
After the activities of Ubud, today is the chance to take it easy or head on to the water for some activities. Unwind amid Lombok’s unspoilt beauty, with secluded beaches and lush landscapes or slow right down on Gili Air, where powdery beaches, crystal-clear waters and a blissful absence of cars create the perfect setting for barefoot days and spectacular sunsets.
Day 7 | Private snorkelling trip to the Gili Islands
Spend the day exploring the crystal-clear waters around Gili Meno, Gili Air, and Gili Trawangan on a private boat tour. Discover the vibrant marine life at four stunning snorkeling spots along the way, with plenty of time to swim, relax, and soak in the island vibes.
On board, enjoy a selection of tasty snacks, a fresh tropical fruit platter, and refreshing soft drinks to keep you energized throughout the journey. Midday, take a break for a leisurely lunch at Papaya Beach Club on Gili Air, in a laid-back beachfront setting.
If you have opted for Moyo Island, you can snorkel on the house reefs or swim in crystal-clear waterfalls.
Day 8 | Travel East to Flores, Gateway to Komodo
Today take your flight from Bali or Lombok to Luaban Bajo, the Gateway to the extraordinary islands and marine landscapes of Flores and Komodo National Park where dramatic volcanic islands, turquoise waters and incredible wildlife await. On arrival, settle into your hotel and relax before a day of adventure in this spectacular corner of Indonesia.
Day 9 | Sail Emerald waters to Komodo Island and explore Pink Beach
Set sail from Labuan Bajo on a full-day boat adventure through the spectacular islands of Komodo National Park, where rugged volcanic landscapes rise from brilliantly turquoise seas. Visit Komodo Island in search of the legendary Komodo dragons, before continuing to secluded pink beaches and vibrant reefs where you can swim and snorkel in wonderfully clear waters. As the day unfolds, enjoy the ever-changing scenery from the deck of your boat, with plenty of time to relax, soak up the sunshine and take in the untamed beauty of this remarkable archipelago.
If time and budget allows, we recommend considering taking a 2 day / 1 night boat trip to experience this magical area further.
Day 10 | Travel back to Bali
Today take your flight back to Bali but this time head to the coast, perhaps around Sanur or Jimbaran in the South of the island.
Day 11 | Final day of R&R in paradise
Today enjoy your final day in Indonesia – relax on the beach with a Balinese massage, head out on the water by canoe, or explore further afield to make the very most of your last day in this tropical paradise. Don’t forget to bags a prime spot and grab a cocktail for your final sunset.
Day 12 | Travel back to the UK
Today set off back to the UK, perhaps once again stopping in an Asian City – why not top and tail your Indonesian adventure with both Singapore and Hong Kong?
