Lombok and The Gili Islands
Ama-Lurra Resort, Gili Air

On the car-free shores of delightful Gili Air, eco-conscious Ama-Lurra Resort is the perfect venue for a quiet getaway. Sandy paths replace roads, bicycles glide past swaying palms, and the sea is never more than a few barefoot steps away.

The design is clean yet tactile—sun-washed walls, natural textures, and open spaces whilst dining is beach-casual with an on-site mixologist on hand to create the perfect cocktail to match the sunset!

Facilities & Activities

At the heart of the resort, a tranquil pool sits framed by tropical greenery. It’s the kind of place you can settle into without noticing the hours passing with book in hand.  Watersports, as you’d expect, are un-motorised, including surfing and paddleboarding.

Wellness feels instinctive rather than scheduled. Morning yoga takes place in an open-air setting, and treatments can be arranged in-room, allowing relaxation to come to you.

Beyond the resort, the island reveals itself at an unhurried pace. Snorkel straight from the beach into clear, warm water where turtles drift lazily past or cycle the sandy track that circles the island, stopping at quiet stretches of beach or small cafés along the way.

Dining

Dining at Ama-Lurra is centred around Olatu Beach Club and Restaurant, an open, easy space that reflects the island’s laid-back rhythm. The menu for lunch and dinner blends Indonesian flavours with fresh, modern dishes—vibrant salads, grilled seafood, and nourishing plates designed for long, leisurely meals.

Terrace, as it’s name suggests, has a specious terrace and garden, open for breakfast and lunch offering Asian and international cuisine.

For something more private, dining can be arranged in-villa or in a quiet corner of the resort, where the only soundtrack is the sea.

Rooms

The 12 exclusive One Bedroom Pool Villas feel like personal sanctuaries—pared-back yet warm, where soft, neutral tones meet natural materials, creating spaces that are both calming and quietly refined.  Generous indoor-outdoor living also incorporates a private pool and shaded lounging areas.

Family

Ama-Lurra is best suited to couples and those seeking a peaceful, design-led escape, though families are welcome.  Please note only King rooms are available, although an extra mattress can be added, and room maximum occupancy is two.

There is no dedicated kids’ club, and the calm, minimalist setting tends to appeal more to older children.

Children’s meals can be accommodated, with flexible, simple options available.

Sustainability

Sustainability is woven into the fabric of Ama-Lurra. From the use of natural materials and thoughtful design that maximises airflow, to a conscious effort to minimise plastic and support local suppliers, the approach is both considered and quietly effective.  Impressively, the villas are also fully powered by on-site solar technology.

Location

The hotel is located on a stunning beachfront along the sunset coast of Gili Air, a 15 minute walk from the dock and a 2 hour boat crossing from Bali or shorter trip from Lombok which can be accessed from Bali by air.
