Sri Lanka’s east coast is bathed in sunshine during our summer months making it the ideal destination for a family holiday.

Guide Price & Inclusions
1 night rest stop on arrival, 3 nights Cultural Triangle, 4 nights East Coast beach & 3 nights near Kandy £3,800 per adult and £2,200 per child under 12 sharing including flights, private driver/guide and accommodation. Dinner is included throughout except during the beach stay which is on a bed & breakfast basis.

Suggested Extensions
If more active adventure appeals perhaps head higher into the Hill Country for white water rafting on the Kelani River. This is also the ideal time to visit Yala National Park in the South East famous for their leopards!

May to September when the East Coast is generally dry and sunny.
Tips for Families
With a private driver/guide you have the flexibility to set your own schedule but remember to build in lots of fun time ‘out of the van’ rather than full days of touring.

Itinerary
DAY 1 | FLY TO COLOMBO, SRI LANKA
Take a daytime flight from London to Colombo (11 hours) and transfer directly to your hotel, a lovingly restored old planter’s cottage which is the perfect spot to re-charge your batteries after the long flight.
Transfer time approx. 1 hour.
DAYS 2-4 | CULTURAL TRIANGLE
From here, head north towards the fascinating Cultural Triangle for the perfect blend of cullture, wildlife and fun; climb Sigiriya rock fortress, cycle around Polonnaruwa’s ruins and take a jeep drive to meet the elephants in Minneriya National Park.
Transfer time to Cultural Triangle approx. 3 hours.
DAYS 5-8 | EAST COAST BEACH
Next stop the beach for 4 nights. The East Coast is bathed in sunshine during our summer months and the crystal calm waters are perfect for swimming and water-sports.
Transfer time to east coast approx. 2 hours.
DAY 9-11 | KANDY
Spend 3 nights in the hills outside Kandy. Stay at charming Rosyth Estate House where you can visit the local Tea Factory, explore the area by mountain bike or partake in family cookery lesson! If your dates co-incide, don’t miss the Perahera Festival in Kandy with decorated elephants, fire dances and drummers galore.
Transfer time to Rosyth Estate approx. 4-4.5 hours.
DAY 12| FLY BACK TO THE UK
Transfer to the airport (approx. 2 hours) for your overnight flight back to London (11 hours).
