Maldives
Constance Moofushi

Paradise awaits at the lively and well-priced Constance Moofushi.  This all-inclusive resort is big enough that you can find a secluded spot all to yourself but not so large that you feel disoriented.

As well as 5* luxury and family-friendly touches, the hotel-on-stilts offers world-class diving, boasting a stellar location on the migration route of manta rays. Stroll barefoot through sugar-white sand, watch the waves lapping around your villa or try your hand at the on-site activities, from beach volleyball to snorkelling.

Facilities & Activities

Rich with underwater creatures, Constance Moofushi is known for its diving, so it’s little wonder that this is one of the resort’s many offerings. Sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and snorkelling excursions are some of the activities included in the price of your holiday. Payable activities include PADI diving, fishing trips and a dolphin search in a speedboat or Dhoni (traditional sail boat). You can also book a ‘Romantic Getaway’, where you and your loved one are deposited on a deserted island for a half or full day.

There is a dive shop – manned by friendly staff – and guests looking to experience another side of the Maldives can book onto a (payable) tour around the Muslim community on the neighbouring island. The tours are led by resort staff, many of whom grew up here.

Set on a wooden jetty, the spa overlooks the water and has eight treatment rooms, including two double rooms for couples to enjoy a treatment at the same time. Products are made using plants from the Indian Ocean and you opt for everything from massages to natural wraps. There is also a state-of-the-art gym and yoga pavilion, as well as laundry and babysitting services.

Dining

There are 2 restaurants to choose from – Manta and Alizée – both of which are part of your all-inclusive package and offer a children’s menu. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the sandy-floored Manta is the main restaurant. You’ll find a fantastic variety of dishes, such as pastries, wood-fired pizza, Maldivian specialities and and sponge cakes, baked fresh every day. The buffet is manned by friendly chefs, who you can chat to about different recipes.

For a la carte beach grill, head to Alizée, just a stone’s throw from the sea. Open for dinner, it serves favourites such as hamburgers, sandwiches, grilled meat and seafood dishes, in a relaxed atmosphere. Lunch can be served around the pool, and at the beach bar.

Totem is a driftwood-style bar serving freshly brewed iced teas, imaginative smoothie combinations and snacks throughout the day. Set beneath a canopy of indigenous trees, it’s the ideal spot for a sundowner on the beach.

Rooms

Choose from 24 Beach Villas, 56 Water Villas and 30 Senior Water Villas. Simple yet well-made, the thatched wooden bungalows feature pared-back luxury inside, with beachcomber-inspired fittings, natural materials and spotless en-suite bathrooms.

Senior Water Villas are larger and can accommodate two spare beds, ideal for families with children. Beach Villas are a more affordable choice, with terraces opening onto the sand, and can also take a spare bed. In a Water Villa, the waves lap beneath you, and you can also add an extra bed.

Family

Though this isn’t as child-oriented as some resorts (there is no kids club here, for example), there are enough family-friendly touches to make your holiday as relaxing as possible. A babysitting service is available and the sea around the Spa is described as suitable for kids. Villas can have extra beds added for children (1 child in Beach Villas and Water Villas and 2 children in Senior Water Villas).

Sustainability

Constance Moofushi is now a Gold member of the Green Globe certification. They focus their efforts on saving energy, water and reducing waste along with using only organic fertilisers and buying sustainably harvested seafood and agricultural products. Location

Set on the tip of the South Ari Atoll, Constance Moofushi is widely regarded as one of the world’s best diving spots. It’s a 45-minute trip by seaplane from the capital, Malé. The journey by air makes for a scenic and memorable arrival to the island. After touching down at Constance Moofushi, you’ll be met by a member of the Guest Relations team, who will give you arrival information and escort you to your villa.
