Sugar Beach

Sweeping views of shimmering azure waters and a long stretch of silky soft white sand is the backdrop to this elegant, colonial-style hotel.

The resort offers a relaxing haven for families, with 30 acres of lush tropical gardens to explore along with a plethora of activities to enjoy.

Facilities & Activities

The beautiful sugar-plantation style manor is home to a huge array of facilities for all ages and stages. Alternate between the large main pool (one of the largest in Mauritius!) complete with relaxing bubble corner or the more tranquil south pool, in a designated ‘quiet zone’.  The resort overlooks 1.5km of white sandy beach which never feels crowded and undoubtedly offers the best seat in the house for those vibrant sunsets.

For the energetic, there is plenty to keep you busy with complimentary water-sports including snorkelling, windsurfing, and glass bottom boat trips while scuba-diving, water-skiing, deep sea fishing or a more leisurely catamaran cruise can be arranged for a fee. There are 5 floodlit tennis courts along with well-equipped fitness centre and a wonderful spa. Facilities are also shared with the nearby sister resort of La Pirogue, extending the choice.

Golfers are also well-catered for here with free and unlimited green fees at Tamarina Golf Club and Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club – a picturesque island of untouched land off the east coast.

From solar energy panels and community projects to recycling initiatives, Sugar Beach is striving to be as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible. This dedication to sustainable practices has rewarded the hotel with the EarthCheck Silver Accreditation. We love how Sugar Beach is committed to raising awareness and even the younger guests are encouraged to get involved. At the Kids Club upcycling activities centre around craft and local culture, while old hotel uniforms are transformed into artwork and towels turned into soft toys!

The resort is set on Flic en Flac beach, one of the best in the Indian Ocean, and is the perfect spot from which to enjoy the breath-taking sunsets! Situated on the west coast, it is also sheltered from the trade winds which are more prevalent during the European summer months (winter in Mauritius).

The resort is a 1 hour road transfer from Mauritius Airport.
