If you can tear yourself away from the comfy beach loungers, the meandering free-form swimming pool is a wonderful place to catch up with your holiday reading. Measuring 50m by 25m the resort is able to boast one of the largest resort pools in Asia – a tempting prospect for waterbabies wishing to bank some lengths.
Santiburi offers something for guests of all ages and abilities. The Water Sports Centre has a wide array of complimentary non-motorised activities for you to try including kayaks, windsurfing and hobie cats – what better way to enjoy Mae Nam’s beautiful waters (NB no motorised sports are offered).
Back on land, there is a floodlit tennis court, a modern, fully-equipped fitness centre, bicycles, a football field hosting friendly daily matches as well as jogging tracks through the lovely gardens. As for golf enthusiasts, there is a stunning course incorporating rolling greens weaving through swaying coconut palms – all a short complimentary shuttle ride away.
The new Santiburi by Bhawa Spa can be found at the heart of the resort and is inspired by the ancient city of Ayutthayae, with carvings and fountains to calm the senses before luxuriating with one of the best therapies available in Thailand (and that’s saying something!)

Santiburi delivers outstanding dining experiences, whether that means a full cooked breakfast, a lavish seafood buffet or signature cocktails on the beach.
The restaurants. all thoughtfully positioned so guests can enjoy garden and beach views, offer a refined yet relaxed atmosphere, with guests of all ages welcome. The menus include familiar favourites and authentic Thai recipes. Vimarnmek is the stylish breakfast venue where guests can enjoy an al fresco start to the day in the garden patio. The extensive buffet is complimented by a selection of cooking stations where guests can enjoy eggs and waffles to order! A fresh juice station even offers raw vegetable and fresh fruit smoothies. Sala Thai restaurant serves up authentic Thai cuisine in a casually elegant environment. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls allow guests to enjoy views over the garden, while outdoor seating gives diners a glimpse of the stars. Set sharing menus are a highlight, allowing guests to dine in the traditional Thai manner, sampling from a wide range of classic recipes.
The Beach House offers lunch and dinner in a sophisticated but laid-back environment. An irresistible menu of delicious delights sourced from the land and sea, with signature dishes specially created by Thai celebrity Chef Art, and an appealing choice of signature cocktails, perfect to toast Koh Samui’s spectacular sunsets. Select your personal seafood feast from the fresh market display and have it prepared to your taste, or indulge in a succulent cut of imported steak, cooked exactly as you like it and washed down with a fine vintage from the restaurant’s well stocked wine cellar.
Rooms
Quirky and luxurious duplex-style accommodation offers a separate bedroom and living area on the upper floor and comes with one or two bedrooms and balcony with easy access to the resorts’ fantastic swimming pool.
Those looking for something a touch more exclusive should consider the variety of One-bedroom Villas, scattered amongst the gardens or you can opt for a Beach-front Villa if sea views appeal over tropical privacy. You can even opt for a villa with a private plunge pool. If a private swimming place is your ultimate holiday ‘must have’ then a Pool Villa provides you with your own private pool with sun loungers.
Looking for something really special? The two spacious Presidential Retreat Villas are situated on the beachfront with two en-suite bedrooms and a separate living room. There is a central courtyard with either a Jacuzzi or plunge pool.

Family
Children are very well looked after at Santiburi, offering parents some precious time to enjoy doing their own thing, whether that be a spa treatment, beach activity or that all important afternoon snooze in a hammock.
Aside from all the watersports and swimming, the Kids’ Activity Centre has table tennis, darts, a library, a video games room with PlayStation and an array of other toys and games. There are fun workshops in traditional Thai arts and crafts, painting batik shirts and making gel candles, even Thai cooking. For younger children, the Kids’ Club, open 10:00 to 16:00 accepts little ones from ages 3 years plus.
Once a week during school holidays Santiburi organises family days with fun competitions such as football. There are also Thai acrobatics shows and elephant education sessions whilst for little ones, there is even a petting zoo with rabbits and chickens!
A child can share a One bedroom Duplex or opt for the Two bedroom Duplex with a Double and Twin plus two bathrooms and living room set over two floors. We love the new beachfront Grand Deluxe Pool Villas with several bedrooms, some with private plunge or ‘splash out’ on your own pool!
Sustainability
Santiburi Koh Samui is an important and active member of the Koh Samui’s business and tourism community. The resort has been a significant local employer for almost 30 years and co-operates closely with Samui’s public and island authorities to keep the natural environment along Koh Samui’s north shore as pristine as possible. Their best practice approach to sustainability includes the implementation of energy and water saving strategies, recycling of grey water and waste management, the use of non-chemical pesticides in the garden, sourcing local products at every opportunity, and supporting community projects either with funds or voluntary assistance.
Santiburi Koh Samui also supports regional environmental initiatives through its owning company Singha Estate.
Location
Santiburi is located on the stunning Mae Nam Beach on the Northern Coastline of Samui. It is one of the islands most beautiful beaches. A wide crescent of golden sand and warm, calm waters are perfect for swimming, with light winds further out providing excellent conditions for sailing. The resort is just 20 minutes’ drive from Samui International Airport, accessed by non-direct flights from Europe.
