Once you’ve settled in after the ferry crossing onto the Island, the enchanting setting itself will keep you captivated. Whilst a couple of villa options boast private pools, the resorts beach bar pool, capri pool and pool club offer diverse yet equally inviting landscapes for whatever dip you fancy. The resort truly shines due to it’s beachfront, opening out onto a crystal blue lagoon perched between granite cliffs and a jungle beyond, guests are invited to maximise their experience either snorkelling, kayaking, paddle-boarding or even organising a scuba trip at the reef dive centre. Whilst the coral isn’t the most vibrant compared to some destinations such as the Maldives and Red Sea, there are still a good selection of fish to spot and resident turtles!

The Tein spa is there to unwind your body after a day of beachside adventure, whether that’s enjoying a beauty spa treatment or a massage it’s a great chance to savour the serene environment.

Start your day in paradise by delving in to the generous buffet breakfast with a la carte eggs and something to keep both sweet and savoury breakfast lovers happy, all while soaking up the morning sun on the charming beachfront location.

For those seeking delicious cuisine paired with breath-taking views of the bay later on in the day, the onsite restaurant ‘Insea bar and grill’ truly offers a dining experience in paradise. Listen to the gentle thrumming of the waves whilst you enjoy an a la carte menu, championing both authentic Thai and international cuisine, with emphasis on local produce. For something a little different, ‘Capri Ristorante’ offers a wide range of pizzas and pastas, still situated on the beachside oasis.

The beach bar onsite provides a welcome shelter from the sun for a light bite under the thatched cover, or perhaps treat yourself to a cooling cocktail on the sandy shore before or after you enjoy dinner.

Rooms

The Hideaway (40 sqm), Getaway (40 sqm) and Haadtien Villas (55 sqm) are tucked away within the verdant retreat of the forest, still remaining a close proximity to the beach they can be described as the epitome of nature’s embrace, all of which can be taken in from the comfort of a private balcony.

The Castaway Beach Villas (40 sqm) stand proud just a stone’s throw away from the beach, where as you draw back your curtains in the morning you are greeted with the gentle breaking of waves and the feeling of sand on your feet. The villas offer an oversized outdoor daybed as well as beach loungers to take comfort on after a quick dip in the sea just ahead.

The Haadtien Pool Villa (82 sqm) is arguably the ultimate seaside sanctuary, providing you with both privacy as well as astonishing vistas of the bay. The villas are equipped with generous living space, a private pool, an inviting daybed and a spacious deck, all whilst remaining within a close proximity to the beach and it’s marine life. The Getaway Family Pool Villa (130 sqm) offers that same luxury, but accommodates for a greater number of people, equipped with two bedrooms with a living room and ensuite for each.

The resort welcomes children and there is plenty to keep them entertained, from the variety of pools overlooking the beach, to the water-sports, not to mention the fantastic opportunities to swim alongside the vibrant marine life. For older kids, there is the enticing option to enjoy a scuba dive around the top sites, regardless of whether you are a beginner or seasoned diver, a bespoke dive will be arranged just for you.

Although only one child is able to share the majority of rooms, both the Castaway beach family villas as well as the Getaway family pool villa offer that extra room for two children to stay in their own bedroom, with space and privacy in mind.

Child care services are available for an additional fee, so you could even spend some time alone to enjoy all that the resort and the Island itself has to offer.

Sustainability

As The Haad Tien is nestled on one of Thailand’s most pristine and stunning bays, the resort prides itself on blending seamlessly with its natural surroundings. The villas and restaurant are eco-friendly, built using sustainable materials to minimize environmental impact. The resort also maintains its own flower and plant nursery, providing a steady supply of native greenery. This nursery also serves as a fruit and vegetable garden, ensuring guests enjoy fresh, delicious produce while supporting a commitment to a low carbon footprint.

The resort is tucked away on Thian Og Bay (Shark Bay) situated on the island’s Southeast corner. The hotel acts as a calming retreat despite remaining only 1 kilometre away from the nearest village, local shops and restaurants, perfect for those seeking some variation in their days. The hotel stands roughly twenty-minutes by taxi or twenty-five minutes by a taxi boat away from the bustling ferry port of Mae Haad, making it an easy journey to face after the ferry trip over to the beautiful Island.
