South East Thailand
Buri Rasa Village Phangan

Located on one of the prettiest bays in Thailand in our view, The Buri Rasa embodies the laidback, toes in the sand image envisioned when thinking of a tropical Asian retreat.

Situated directly on the stunning and secluded Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach, flanked by mountains and lush vegetation, the hotel expertly balances affordability and exclusivity elevating it to status of hidden gem!.

Facilities & Activities

The hotel is located in a stunning setting right on the shores of arguably one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Thailand, the sand is soft and the water is warm, making it the ideal location for a swim at any time of day. Kayaks can be taken out on request for those wanting to explore the coastline. The pool is pleasant but it should be noted it is located centrally within the rooms with a limited sea view, the beach is definitely the main attraction here!

Located Beachside is Nam Thai massage, a must if you want to immerse yourself in the local culture and expertise, with an abundance of natural herbal remedies accompanied by the soft sea breeze. There is also a small gym that directly overlooks the sea providing a workout with a view. The atmospheric nightly entertainment on the beach is also a great touch, ranging from fire dancing to live music only mere footsteps from your room.

Just outside of the hotel within short walking distance is the charming Panburi Village, which offers a selection of fun restaurants, bars and shops to be explored, and provides some buzz despite the otherwise serene and isolated location. Venturing further inland you can find waterfalls, elephant trekking sites and of course the renowned full moon party on the other side of the island.

On site is The Beach Club at Buri Rasa Village, it has a laid-back atmosphere but serious food, with local chefs expertly utilising local ingredients to serve delicious and authentic Thai dishes. You can choose between toes in the sand with tables on the beach or comfortable seating in the thatched pagodas. Breakfast is served here in a more international buffet style. The cabana style beach bar, adjacent to the restaurant, serves truly memorable sundowners accompanied by nightly live entertainment.

As previously mentioned with a brief stroll out of the hotel guests can select from a variety of equally relaxed and upbeat restaurants and bars to provide some variety, as the country is renowned for all the food is delicious yet surprisingly affordable.

All the rooms are clean and spacious with high vaulted ceilings and air conditioning to keep you cool with the added addition of terraced balconies- essential given the tropical climate.

The standard rooms are available as pool access on the bottom floor or pool view on the upper floor with the same for their respective beach counterparts, with all four of these types sleeping a maximum of three guests. The Ocean Front Deluxe room however has the added benefit of its terrace directly leading onto the beach – a real treat given the location.

The final room types are the Rasa Rooms, which are more expansive, with a luxurious feel.  The pinnacle of Buri Rasa’s offerings however is the Rasa Ocean Front Room, with sweeping views of the ocean through floor to ceiling windows and a delightful outdoor living space leading directly to the beach.

It should be noted that we highly recommend upgrading to a beach front room to truly benefit from the highlight of this hotel, but book early!

The laidback atmosphere, pleasant swimming pool and expansive beach makes it an ideal spot for families of all ages.

In terms of accommodation, one child can share in all room categories or for those seeking connecting rooms, The Two bedroom Family Suite is ideal, but these are in short supply!

Children will also be thrilled by the live fire dancing on the beach and the restaurant can accommodate all tastes.

The hotel is committed to implementing and enhancing eco-friendly practices such as energy efficiency / using renewable energy, water conservation, waste reduction and sourcing and procurement.  They have been awarded a Thailand Tourism Silver Award and 5 TAT stars (Sustainable Tourism Acceleration Rating).

The hotel is located on the more quiet north eastern bays of the Island of Koh Phangan, a true tropical paradise.  The recommended and most efficient way to access it is via a 40 minute resort speedboat directly onto the beach from Koh Samui (it’s also a rather cool way to arrive!) where there is a local airport serving direct flights from various cities within Thailand and some international destinations such as Singapore too. Alternatively you can take a public ferry from Koh Samui followed by an arranged hotel transfer that will pick you up from the pier.
