The chefs craft exquisite, locally inspired cuisine using fresh, seasonal ingredients, served in breath-taking settings—from elegant indoor dining areas to starlit boma feasts around the fire. Last Word Madikwe has 6 Classic Suites which are a seamless blend of luxury, comfort, and wilderness charm. Each spacious suite is thoughtfully designed to reflect the natural beauty of the bush, with rich textures, and soft, neutral tones that invite relaxation. Large glass doors open onto private decks offering uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape and passing wildlife.

In addition there is a three bedroom private Villa with its own private lounge, dining and kitchen area along with a private deck and plunge pool.

Last Word Madikwe welcomes families with open arms, offering an unforgettable safari experience for guests of all ages.

The private Villa is best suited for families and can accommodate up to 6 guests – 4 adults and 2 children under 16 years of age. The Villa is spacious and well designed offering a lounge area, private deck with plunge pool – staying here you would also get a private safari vehicle!

The Classic Suites are situated within the main Bush House, so rooms are nearby each other with a short walk down a corridor rather than separate cottages. Classic Suites can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child under 12 years.

*Please note: For safety reasons, participation in game drives is typically limited to children aged 6 years and above. Private vehicle options are available for families with younger children upon request, an additional charge may apply.

Location

Located in South Africa’s North West Province near the Botswana border, the lodge is situated within the malarial free Madikwe Game Reserve, just a one-hour flight from Johannesburg to the nearby Madikwe Airstrip, followed by a short, scenic drive through the reserve.

For those who prefer to travel by road, it’s a comfortable 4.5 to 5-hour drive from Johannesburg, with well-maintained routes leading straight to the reserve gate.
