The hotel has a number of different dining options to suit all tastes

Orangerie Restaurant serves as the primary spot and is open 24 hours a day making it truly convenient and ideal to fit your busy schedule exploring Aswan, expect a locally inspired Nubian atmosphere, with the famous Movenpick buffets for breakfast and International menus for lunch and dinner.

The Mezze Restaurant, as it’s name suggests, serves an assortment of locally inspired dishes alongside a surprisingly good wine selection!

Arguably the most impressive of the dining options is the Panorama Restaurant.  Whilst view alone is enough reason to pay it a visit, featuring floor to ceiling windows with a full 360-degree view over the magical Nile and sights on both of its sides such as Aswan city, the botanical island and the Tombs of the Nobles, here you can enjoy carefully selected international fine cuisine.

The Elephantine Restaurant occupies a modern venue overlooking the pool and pretty gardens.  Boasting an outdoor seating area so that you can enjoy the Egyptian sun whilst dining from the impressive buffet.

For those seeking a more casual bite to eat, the pool bar provides an ideal spot, with a selection of light dishes, BBQ items and cooling drinks.


All rooms at the Movenpick are spacious and themed around the Nubian culture for which Aswan is so famous and air-conditioned to keep you cool in the warmer months.

Classic Rooms are 32 square metres, available with either a king or twin bedded set up and feature a variety of different views including garden, partial Nile or full Nile, sleeping up to 4 people.  Superior Room types are also available at a larger 38 square metres; however, these are only available with a king bed.

Junior Suites are 55 square metres in size with a crowning feature of a balcony with sweeping Nile views. The Panoramic Suite is slightly larger at 66 square metres, with an equally impressive outlook. For those looking for something even more impressive, then the Duplex Suites are split over 2 separate levels, boasting 70 square metres.  With living space on the ground floor and the bedroom on the upper, these suites are available with either a Nile or Garden view, and either a king bed or twins. If you are looking to lounge in a hot tub whilst overlooking the Nile, then the Presidential Suite is for you; an expansive 147 square metres, with the addition of a magnificent outdoor jacuzzi and terrace, where you can relax and watch the flowing waters of the famous river.

The final room type are the Villas, The Standard Villa which is 110 square metres with a king bedroom and a twin bedroom and the Royal Villa which is 120 square metres. Both of these sleep 6, with impressive terraces overlooking the best views in the whole of the hotel, coupled with the luxurious design these Villas are a truly stunning place to stay.


The hotel is ideal for families with 2-Bedroom Family Suites and also plenty of other room types that can accommodate from 4 to 6 people.

The hotel is also extremely spacious with lots of space to explore.  There’s also a kids club and children’s pool if you are travelling with little ones, so all family members are catered for.


The hotel cares about and makes efforts to preserve its special part of the world – it’s been a Green Globe certified hotel since 2012.  Being situated on its own Island the hotel has had space to develop its own 40,000 square metre farm, where it grows a variety of fresh produce to be used in its kitchens.

The resort also has its own bird watching station to help monitor local populations and has replaced single-use plastic products in the rooms with reusable.  A solar power station is also being developed to help produce required energy in a sustainable and responsible way.

95% of the staff are from the local surroundings and the hotel also participates in the ‘Kilo of Kindness’ initiative in which school and food supplies are provided to those in need.


The hotel is located on Elephantine Island just off of from the centre of Aswan, with a ferry that can take guests across the river. The hotel is around a 20-minute drive from the Airport, with shuttle services available.
