This evening depart on your exciting adventure to Asia and Australia!

Today arrive in Singapore, and dependent on timings, you could explore the City or simply rest after the journey.

Today it’s time to hit the sights of Singapore – you could head to Sentosa island if a water park or Universal Studios is appealing, or explore more cultural sights.  Little India is a vibrant community with colourful temples and some great food options whilst Chinatown also provides a great shopping opportunity for hidden gems.  This afternoon / evening head to Gardens by the Bay.  Beyond the flora and fauna that you’ll find here, there are many iconic structures here such as the Cloud Forest and the supertrees look amazing lit up at night!

Today take your direct flight with Qantas to Darwin, in the Northern Territories.  Did you know Qantas actually stands for Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Service? On arrival, take your transfer to the Waterfront, where you will stay for the night prior to your safari departure!

After a leisurely breakfast, meet your guide in reception from Lord’s safaris, who will be with you for the next 3 days.  Take a small bag for the trailer, and leave excess luggage in reception, before setting off in your private 4 x 4.  The journey time down to Kakadu is 2 – 3 hours, but it shouldn’t take long after a lunch stop picnic by the river.  Settle in to camp, before setting off on a shared sunset cruise on the Yellow Billabong, to spot lots of crocs, a wide variety of birdlife and perhaps water buffalo too.  After dinner prepared on an open fire, settle down for the night in your tent (alternatively you can choose from a range of basic or luxury hotel accommodation).  NB Exact itinerary may vary

After breakfast head off to Arnhemland.  Here a local aboriginal guide, will take you up in to the rocky outcrops to seek out ancient art.  Please note there will be clambering involved!  After a lunch up at the top, descend to the village, where you can visit the Art gallery if you wish.  After driving back to camp, there will be the option of a swim at Cooinda Lodge, only a 5 – 10 minute drive away.  Once again, enjoy dinner cooked over an open fire, and return to your tent for the night.  It’s pretty quiet out here, just the occasional rustle of the cane toads  and the starry skies are simply stunning as they are incredibly clear.

After breakfast, head off for Maguk Falls, where after another rock clamber, you will hopefully find yourself at the most stunning billabong (cleared of any crocs by local rangers after the wet season) where you can swim in the clear water fed by the waterfall, just beautiful!  After lunch back at camp, head back to Darwin, stopping en-route for an amazing 45 minute air boat ride over the wetlands, spotting crocs, buffalo, wild pigs, and lots of birds as you go – a definite highlight of your safari!  You will then be dropped back at your Darwin accommodation later on in the afternoon.

Today take your flight over to Cairns, a journey time of approximately 2 hours, and transfer to your City hotel close to the esplanade, where you’ll settle in for the next 2 nights.  You’ll immediately notice a change in scenery!

This morning make your way to the Marina where you’ll set off for your day trip to the outer reef by Catamaran.  During the day you’ll have the opportunity to dive or snorkel on 3 sites on this world-renowned reef home to over 400 types of coral and 1,500 species of fish, as well as enjoy a buffet lunch.  Snorkel equipment and light wetsuits are provided (risk of stingers is low during our Summer months).

This morning set off for Thala Nature Reserve.  En-route you can visit Wildlife Habitat if you’re keen to see a koala whilst in Australia (they are not found wild in this region) and meet the wallabies who are partial to some sweet potato!  If you book a private tour, lunch and the chance to visit TARC (the small Tropical Animal Rescue Centre) is included as well as photos with animals, should you feel comfortable with this (time for animals to pose for photos is strictly limited by Australian law).  Alternatively, perhaps head to Mossman Gorge, famous for it’s smooth rocks and sandy coves amidst the tropical rainforest.  You can self guide or take a Dreamtime Walk conducted by the local indigenous people to culturally significant sites.

Thala is set on a 145 acre estate, so it’s easy to enjoy a full day here relaxing or joining in some of the complimentary activities should they be operational that day – such as coconut talks and birdwatching walks!  Alternatively you could visit Kurunda – take the skyrail up and the famous scenic railway down!  If you are seeking more wildlife, you could also take the windy road up to the Atherton Tablelands to try and spot a platypus in the river or tree kangaroo in the rainforest, although this is probably best done from Cairns, so extend your day here by a stay, or swap with a night at Thala.

Today you can head up in to the Daintree on a self-guided tour, or we can arrange a guided trip with FNQ Nature tours, to ensure you can relax and truly enjoy the day.  Activities could include a private boat trip on the Daintree River to spot more wildlife, lunch at On the Turps where you can swim in the billabong, strolling along boardwalks in the Daintree, looking out for Cassowary and very noisy fruit bats, trying a locally made ice-cream, and exploring wild beaches, although swimming is often not a wise idea with the risk of salties amongst other things!

Unless you’d like to add more rest nights, or extend your trip to include another part of Australia, today is where your journey home begins, with your direct flight to Singapore (approx 5.5 hours) with Singapore airlines.  On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Spend today relaxing by the pool or head out for some last minute shopping, before your transfer back to the Airport and your overnight flight to the UK.  Alternatively fly to Koh Samui, for some croc free sea swimming and fly home from here!

This morning arrive back in the UK after your adventure.  We recommend building in a few days to acclimatise to jet lag before returning to work or school!
