What to do and Where to stay in
Foz do Iguaçu

The spectacular Iguazú Falls – Foz do Iguaçu in Portuguese, and Cataratas del Iguazú in Spanish, located on the triple frontier of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay are, not surprisingly, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.  Facts and figures abound, but nothing prepares you for the jaw-dropping sight of these thundering falls which are both higher and wider than the perhaps more famous Niagara falls.

Experiences in Foz do Iguaçu

The setting itself, amidst practically virgin rainforest, shouldn’t be overlooked and really, you need a couple of days here to do justice to it all. For unbeatable views of the falls, arguably the most stunning in the world with over 250 cascading drops (they are three times as wide as Niagara!) we recommend visiting both sides.  Cross in to Argentina, home to two-thirds of this natural spectacle, and you can hike down nature trails and along boardwalks to get close to the ‘Devil’s Throat’ (but be sure to pack a waterproof jacket!).  Back on the Brazilian side, panoramic, picture perfect, postcard views are showcased at every turn.
