A great contrasting itinerary is to combine the adventure and thrill of a safari with some relaxing time on the beach in Mauritius or the Seychelles, with an option of some water activities.

3 nights ‘big five’ safari and 7 nights beach £4,500 per adult and £2,800 per child under 12 sharing including flights, transfers and accommodation on an All Inclusive basis for safari and Half Board in Mauritius. Prices are typically at a supplement for the Seychelles.

Suggested Extensions
Why not add a few nights in Cape Town before your safari or add additional nights in a different reserve such as Ant’s Nest with a focus on activities such a horse riding and cycling amongst the game for a more time in the bush? We also recommend a night in Johannesburg before you head to the beach, so you can enjoy your last morning game drive.
Best Time to Travel
This itinerary is popular year round, but the best time for safari is May – September during dry season, whilst Mauritius sees its’ most glorious weather March / April and October / November time, it remains pleasant but cooler in July / August. If warmer temperatures for beach are required during our Summer months, consider the more equatorial Seychelles, but the flight home won’t be direct and the cost will be higher.
Tips for Families
Several lodges within the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve offer family rooms but they are limited so book early! Consider a rest night in Jo’burg both before and after safari to slow the pace and recover from the overnight flight.

Itinerary
Day 1 | Fly Overnight to Johannesburg, South Africa
Depart Heathrow Airport for an overnight flights of approx 10.5 hours to Johannesburg.
Day 2 | Transfer by road to the Madikwe Game Reserve for your 3 Night Big 5 Safari
Morning arrival into Johannesburg Airport, where you will be met and transferred by road – approx 5 hours drive to your lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve or 3 hours to the Waterberg.
Day 3-4 | Enjoy Days Exploring the Bush by 4x4 Game Drives
Spend the next 2 days enjoying game walks and game drives in the bush, where you have a chance to see the Big 5 including lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo as well as additional species such a giraffe, zebra, kudu and springbok.
Day 5 | Early morning road transfer to Johannesburg Airport
Early start this morning as you transfer by road from Madikwe back to Johannesburg in order to catch you midday flight to Mauritius or the Seychelles. Arrive late evening and road transfer to your chosen hotel – approx 1 hour.
Please note: Due to the early morning transfer from Madikwe to Johannesburg Airport you will miss your last mornings game drive. To avoid this you can opt for an overnight stay at an airport hotel before flying onto Mauritius or the Seychelles.
Day 6-11 | Enjoy the next 7 nights in Mauritius / Seychelles
Spend the next 7 nights enjoying some well deserved down time on the beach, snorkelling, pedal boats or scuba diving. Or you can try your luck at deep sea fishing or arrange an excursion outside of your resort such as a catamaran boat trip.
Day 12 | Transfer Back to the Airport to Fly Back to the UK
Today you will be collected from your hotel and transferred back to the Airport in time for your evening and overnight flight home to the London. Please note the flight back from the Seychelles is via Doha.
