Facilities & Activities

MV Letty accommodates up to 20 guests over 3 decks of spacious staterooms, with polished teak interiors trimmed with shiny brass fittings. The cosy lounge area with Apple TV, library and picture windows enjoys breath-taking panoramas of the Galapagos Islands. Many guests simply enjoy relaxing in the sea breeze on one of the sun deck loungers.

Ecoventura offer an exceptionally high guide-to-passenger ratio on their small yachts. On all departures, there are plentiful opportunities for wildlife spotting; the highly experienced naturalist guides lead daily shore visits ensuring you see many of the beautiful beaches, lagoons and forests of the Galapagos and of course the incredible wildlife which includes waved albatross, iguanas, sea-lions, giant tortoises and blue footed boobies. In the evening, the clear night skies are perfect for stargazing. Snorkelling equipment, sea kayaks and wetsuits are all available on board for guest use.

Dining

On board, as part of their fully inclusive cruise, guests can enjoy delicious Ecuadorian and International cuisine in the pleasant dining room. Snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, and house wine/ local beer at dinner are also included, as well as the Captain’s welcome and farewell cocktail parties. There is also a well-stocked bar on board.

Rooms

The boat features 3 decks of spacious staterooms with polished teak interiors trimmed with brass fittings. This is an older boat though and the fixtures and fittings reflect that.  The 10 double outside-facing cabins with a window or porthole view feature 1 double bed or 2 twin beds and are fully air-conditioned with private bathroom. The lower, ‘Iguana Deck’, is home to 4 twin bedded cabins with portholes. Two of these Iguana cabins have an upper bunk bed and can be used for triple occupancy. On the middle ‘Booby Deck’, as well as the dining and conference areas there are 2 double bedded cabins with panoramic windows. The third tier, ‘Dolphin Deck’ contains 4 twin bedded cabins, which are all interchangeable into double beds. Again, large windows afford fabulous views of the surrounding scenery.

Sustainability

In 2017, Ecoventura together with the Charles Darwin Foundation and Galápagos National Park Service established the Galápagos Biodiversity & Education for Sustainability Fund to benefit the Charles Darwin Foundation as well as programmes to support biodiversity research and conservation projects, community outreach, investment in scientific equipment, GNPD boat maintenance and equipment, in addition to support for sustainability education projects such as scholarships for local Galapagueños to undertake university study.

Through their partnerships with Ecology Project International and Pack for a Purpose, Ecoventura helps to support the local community through donated supplies and community outreach. Passengers are reassured that 30% of the produce used in the onboard menus is sourced locally; most fruit and vegetables are from San Cristobal Island and meats; seafood and dairy are from Santa Cruz Island. 48% of the menu is completely organic.

The underlying conviction is that sustainability is the key element that allows tourism to be a force for good in the Galapagos.
