Serengeti National Park
Intimate Camp Zebra

Intimate Camp Zebra is a very comfortable mobile camp that, as its name suggests follows the renowned wildebeest and zebra migration as it moves across the plains of the Serengeti through the year.

The camp has been operating for nearly two decades, the result of which it now boasts several unbeatable locations within the Reserve from which you can create unforgettable memories of this unique safari experience!

Facilities & Activities

Given the nature of the camp, and that it is mobile, Camp Zebra offers an authentic “safari” experience rather than ultra luxury. The main Day Tent has a lounge area, where you can relax and soak up the atmosphere with a good book, or enjoy a board game with your safari companions between activities.  The Mess Tent includes a bar and dining area, with special requests also catered for as part of your Safari Package.

Game drives are offered throughout the day, often following the migration in the hope to see a river crossing whilst bird watching, and hot air ballooning (additional cost and subject to location) are also popular activities.

Please note this camp does not have a swimming pool.

Dining

Meals are catered for daily within the Mess Tent, you can opt to enjoy a picnic lunch so that you can spend the whole day game viewing or if you prefer, return to camp to enjoy lunch and a restful afternoon in advance of an early morning start.

You can choose to dine as a camp group, or privately with your individual party should you prefer. The bar is well stocked with wines, local beers and spirits and a favourite point in the day for many is gathering around the camp fire for drinks and nibbles before your evening meal with the backdrop of African night noises.

The camp also offers ‘bush’ breakfasts, lunches, and sundowners for something a little different!

There are 8 en-suite tents of 30 square which offer a private veranda to enable you to make the most of the views extending over the plains of the Serengeti.  The main bedroom includes a dressing area, and the en-suite bathroom includes a solar-powered hot water shower and a flush toilet.  Charging stations are offered in each tent to ensure camera equipment can always be at the ready!

Children of all ages are welcomed at the camp – children under 4 years are free of charge whilst those age 5 – 15 inclusive are charged at 50% of the adult rate when sharing with 2 adults.

Sustainability

Location

The camp tends to move 4 times within the year, moving with the migrating herds as they follow the rains.  In December to March the camp can be found in the South Ndutu area, between June and October the camp moves from Central Serengeti to the Kogatende region along the Mara River, before moving south again to the central region of the Reserve for November.
