You can take a fishing line and a picnic and spend the day exploring the waters; the amazing marine life and fish make Desroches a top spot for diving and fishing, and there are plenty of opportunities to take scuba trips, go fly fishing or even explore some of the other islands by boat. The island has its own PADI Scuba Dive Centre.

If you prefer to stay on dry land there are nature trails that include searching for giant tortoises, table tennis, beach volley and there is a floodlit tennis court. Bikes are included in your villa and are a great way to explore the island – you can cycle to one end of the island in about half an hour and ride through the jungle with crabs scuttling below to wild beaches – a fabulous experience.

Desroches Island is home to the second largest solar farm in the Seychelles with over 7,200 solar panels. The solar plant, which is capable of producing a minimum of 2,500 KW, allows the Resort to reduce its dependency on Caterpillar diesel generators by 85 percent and consumption by 1.3 million litres annually, saving them 3,200 tons of CO2 production per year, which is equivalent to the energy use of 385 homes for one year. To reduce the use of air conditioning, they use low energy inverter units and monitor all areas to ensure these run at the lowest levels or are turned off when not required. They use low-wattage LED bulbs throughout all accommodations. For water heating, they employ a combination of a heat recovery system (repurposing the hot water from the radiator of their generator to heat water for the Resort operations) and solar power, with electrical water heating only used when surplus demand cannot be met.

From 2022, a minimum of 70% of all fruit and vegetables will be sourced directly from the island’s agricultural farm.

Desroches Island is located 230km south west of Mahé. It is part of the Amirantes Group of islands and is approximately six km long and 1.5km wide.
