Fairmont Royal Pavilion

If you dream of walking out of the azure waters of the Caribbean Sea, across pristine white sands right up to your room, then the Fairmont Royal Pavilion might just be your perfect resort.

Enjoying a picture-perfect location in Alleynes Bay, one of the quieter beaches on Barbados’ famous Platinum Coast, its colonial style buildings are stretched along the shore, just steps from the idyllic beach making it perfect for families. With 11 acres of lush tropical gardens boasting 2 floodlit tennis courts and an outdoor swimming pool there’s plenty of fun to be had away from the beach although the prospect of afternoon tea, delivered by your very own butler (oh yes!), on soft white sand is sure to appeal to guests of all ages!

Facilities & Activities

Resort facilities are perfect for both couples and families. Access to the beach couldn’t be easier, and the hotel provides complimentary non-motorised water sports including snorkelling, kayaking, small dinghy sailing, windsurfing and paddle boarding. There’s also seasonal turtle watching which is an absolute must! Set back just a short way from the beach, and surrounded by the hotel’s lush gardens is a lovely freshwater swimming pool and heated Jacuzzi.

Those wishing to burn a little more energy can opt for a game of tennis on one of the hotel’s 2 great floodlit hard courts or visit the 24-hour fitness room.

If you fancy some extra pampering head to the Salon for hair and beauty treatments or indulge in a whole range of in-room spa experiences from reiki to reflexology.  A massage on your own private balcony with the sea lapping the sand just metres away really is a very special treat.

For those wanting to venture further afield, it is an easy drive to a wide variety of interesting attractions from stalactites and stalagmites in Harrisons Caves to up-market rum tasting at St Nicholas Abbey, as well as some of the highly recommended independent restaurants for which Barbados is now so well known. The hotel concierge team will be happy to help arrange off-property activities, or alternatively you can hire a car and take yourself off on your own island adventure!

Situated a mile North of Holetown, the Fairmont Royal Pavilion is 12 miles from Barbados’ Grantley Adams International Airport. Transfer takes approximately 45 minutes by taxi. There is a 9-hour direct flight from the UK to the island.

Holetown offers a wide range of shopping from top International brands in the Limegrove Centre to local arts and crafts in the Chattel Village shops. There is also a cinema and a variety of lively restaurants and bars nearby –  we think you’ll particularly enjoy the idyllic Lone Star waterfront restaurant.

This is prime turtle watching territory too; in the shallow waters off the beach turtle-spotting catamarans drop anchor, so a short swim will have you drifting amongst these majestic and mesmerising creatures.
