Kandy & The Hill Country
Camellia Hills

Live the life of a modern-day tea planter at Camellia Hills, a luxurious five-bedroom boutique bungalow nestled in Sri Lanka’s verdant Hill Country.

Overlooking a mirror-still reservoir, the panoramic views of the Castlereagh Valley are simply stunning. Soak up the scenery on a hike through the tea fields or explore the trails on mountain bikes before returning to the comfort of the bungalow with its refreshing infinity swimming pool and roaring open fires.

Facilities & Activities

A combination of spectacular scenery and a temperate climate makes Camellia Hills a superb place to get active.

Enjoy scenic hikes from the bungalow through the carefully manicured tea estates on your own or accompanied by a guide and learn more about the age-old tea production process with a tea factory visit. Mountain Bikes are available for guests to use and the islands on the reservoir can be explored by boat, offering the perfect setting for a picnic lunch with a view! If you’re interested in learning more about lifestyle of the British planters in this part of the Hill Country, take a trip across the reservoir to the quaint Warleigh Church, a tiny church built in 1878 by British planters.

For the more adventurous you can hike up Adam’s Peak, Sri Lanka’s fifth highest peak, or go white-water rafting at Kitugala (approx. 75 min drive). Seven high quality, class II and III rapids and temperate waters make the Kelani a premier introduction to the sport of white-water or an exciting choice for experienced rafters!
