Guests can hire bikes for free, and the most exclusive rooms (Full Moon Villa and Onsen Panoramic Valley Chamber) include one complimentary massage, plus free fishing and bar drinks and snacks. If Vietnamese cuisine is your thing, you’ll be in heaven here. The Citronella Restaurant serves the freshest of fare, with many ingredients – including mint, coriander, ginger, cardamom, turmeric and star anise – coming from the hotel’s organic garden located just steps away. Tuck into delights such as traditional beef noodle stew, crispy fish and dill spring rolls and banana flower and chicken salads. Western options such as burgers and sandwiches are also available. The Longani Bar has a relaxed terrace and serves an array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails.


Vaulted ceilings, traditional floor tiles, exposed brickwork and large sumptuous beds are the order of the day in the hotel’s rustic stone houses, which are scattered amidst the rice paddies. Premium rooms have cosy living spaces and outdoor terraces with fantastic views. Each room type has its USP – the most lavish include the Full Moon Villa, which features a private pool, while you get your very own open-air hot spring in the Onsen Panoramic Valley Chamber. Rooms come with complimentary daily fruit bowls and teas, while high-tech touches include smart toilets and wi-fi throughout.

Children are welcome, and all room types can sleep up to two adults and two children (under 12), with extra beds and free cots available on request. Babysitting can also be arranged by reception (chargeable).

There is also an emphasis on supporting the surrounding community through hiring local staff, supporting their crafts and promoting responsible tourism.


Sandwiched between limestone peaks and green rice paddies, a two-hour drive south of Hanoi, Tam Coc Garden sits in beautiful Ninh Binh. Hop on one of the hotel’s bikes and you can pedal to Bich Dong Pagoda, a collection of caves filled with ancient shrines. Other nearby attractions include Tam Coc River, Van Long Nature Reserve and Dong Thien Ha (Galaxy Caves) – all easily accessible by car.
