Itinerary

Take your flight to Marrakech, a journey time of approximately 3.5 hours.

Day 2 | EXPLORE THE MEDINA

Today meet your guide who will help guide you through the Old City, a maze of narrow streets originally built in 1122.  Here you can find colourful stalls selling a range of handicrafts as well as variety of food products – a true feast for the senses.  You will also have the chance to visit Ben Yousef Madrasa, an Islamic College established in the 14th Century and thought at one time to be the largest in North Africa, housing approximately 900 studets.  Today it’s creates the opportunity to see some of the most intricate Moroccan design and is rightly a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 3 | MARJORELLE GARDENS

Explore the botanical gardens created by French painter Jacques Majorelle, home to exotic cacti, included in the tour cost!  If you wish, for a small supplement, you can also visit the Musee Yves Saint Laurent housed in a dramatic building next door, full of interesting displays that even non-fashionistas can appreciate.  In the afternoon, perhaps put your creative skills to the test and try a hands on workshop in basketry, pottery or cooking.

Day 4 | VISIT A BERBER FAMILY EN-ROUTE TO THE MOUNTAINS

This morning set off for the Atlas Mountains, only an hour or so from the City but a world away.  Stop to have lunch with a Berber family for a relaxed experience sampling some delicious local cuisine.

Day 5 | TREK IN THE ATLAS

After a hearty breakfast, set off for your quest to find some amazing views, not hard to come by in the Atlas!  You can choose from a guided trek through picturesque valleys and remote villages for just a few hours, or full day (2 hour trek included in the guide price).

Day 6 | DRIVE TO ESSAOUIRA

Today it’s time to bid Goodbye to the mountains and join your transfer to the coast, a journey time of approximately 4 hours to include a stop.

Day 7 | EXPLORE THE 'MOGADOR'

Today explore the bustling Medina of Essaouira.  Formerly named the Mogador (meaning ‘small fortress’), it’s an outstanding example of a fortified town of the mid-eighteenth century.  Watch the fisherman arrive back into port with their traditional boats that are still light enough to carry up the seafront and choose something fresh for a delicious lunch.  This afternoon, take a stroll along the wind-swept beach, edging the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 8 | FLY HOME

Today drive back to Marrakech (approximately 3 hours) and take your flight back to the UK.
