Dining

The Juniper Restaurant at Fairmont Washington DC is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  It offers great modern American regional cuisine made with fresh, locally grown, seasonal and sustainable ingredients.  Tables overlook the exquisite flower-filled courtyard garden, and if you are visiting during the warmer months you must take the opportunity to dine al fresco; the heady scent of the flowers perfume the garden, whilst at night the star-filled sky above provides a magical atmosphere.

Innovative brunches are available on special occasions throughout the year in The Colonnade, and for cocktails and light hors d’oeuvres there is the delightful Loggia Lounge where you can enjoy views of the courtyard garden.

In-room dining is also available 24 hours a day, and menus can be adapted to meet any special dietary requirements.

Family

The Fairmont Washington DC welcomes families and is a great choice if you are visiting the city with children.  There are plenty of national treasures within walking distance of the hotel that offer hours of fun for all the family – helpfully many have free entry too. We think the whole family will enjoy options including the National Air & Space Museum, National Museum of American History, The Washington Monument and for the budding James Bonds in your party the International Spy Museum!

The 50 foot indoor pool has designated family swim times each day and a children’s menu is available. Children aged five and under eat for free whilst those aged six to eleven eat for half price from the regular menu.  Any special dietary requirements are also happily accommodated.

Guest rooms are large and comfortable.  The Fairmont and Deluxe Rooms offer two double beds, so work well with families and there are interconnecting rooms available in all room categories.  Ambassador and Magnolia Suites can be adapted to offer a second bedroom, so would work well for families too.

Cots are complimentary and a babysitting service is available on request.

Sustainability

The hotel strives to be socially responsible, with an interest in its sustainability, interestingly the hotel actually posesses its own honey beehives on its roof to help with pollination of the local plant-life. It also utilises a energy efficient system throughout the whole property to minimise wasted power, and a comprehensive recycling system.
