Qantas to fly non-stop London to Perth, News

Credit Tourism Australia

Great news for travellers to western Australia - the introduction of non-stop flights from London to Perth with Qantas on their 787-9 Dreamliner from March 2018. Qantas’ London-Perth non-stop service will operate to Perth Airport Terminal 3 and 4, which will be upgraded to accommodate international flights and allow one-stop services from London to over 10 ports in Australia. The new QF9/QF10 will replace Qantas’ existing London-Dubai-Melbourne services – marking the next evolution of the Kangaroo Route, seven decades after the national carrier first flew British customers all the way to Australia. With a faster flying time and quicker connections in Perth, customers travelling from London to Melbourne will reduce their total travel time by approximately an hour compared with existing Qantas A380 services.

Key facts:

- First direct link between Australia and Europe, using Western Australia as a hub

- Shortest and fastest version of the Kangaroo Route in its 70 year history

- Operated by the new Qantas Boeing 787 Dreamliner, designed to offer improved comfort on long haul flights

- Built-in features to reduce jetlag and improve the overall travel experience

- A high level of comfort in cabins, with a low seat count

- Tweaks to the inflight service so passengers can enjoy the journey even more

- When it launches, it’s expected to be the third-longest passenger flight in the world.
