California Dreaming, Young Adventurers
This iconic journey takes you down the West Coast of the USA, starting in San Francisco and ending in Los Angeles. This road trip is certainly an experience to be enjoyed once in your lifetime and sharing the famous sights with your children will make for an action packed trip!

Take your day time flight to San Francisco where you will stay for 3 nights, perhaps with views over the famous but often foggy Bay. Visit atmospheric Alcatraz by boat, drive or cycle across the Golden GateBridge, take a traditional tram and include a stop at the California Academy of Sciences complete with multi-level rainforest! We also recommend a stroll along the waterfront to sample some of the excellent speciality of Chowders and before having some traditional fun on Pier 39 (think carousels and mirror mazes!).
After your time in Friscco, head East to Yosemite National Park (approx 3 hours) for 2 nights where you can hug a giant redwood, climb waterfalls, take a dip in snow melt and scale trails to be rewarded by some spectacular views! After all that fresh air, head back to the coast and Monterey (approx 3 hours) for 2 days laid back time on the beach and a visit to the renowned Aquarium, one of the best in the world and both fun and fascinating for all ages.
Spectacular scenery unfurls as you drive the famous ‘Big Sur’ with the road hugging the coastline as you head to Los Angeles for a further 4 nights. En-route hang out with the Elephant Seals and perhaps take a stop night around San Luis. Upon arrival there are plenty of sights to experience including Hollywood, Rodeo Drive, Universal Studios and perhaps Disneyland or spend time watching life on the beach pass you by before taking your overnight flight home.

If you would like to include longer beach time on your journey to LA, we recommend a stop in Santa Barbara. This very pretty town has a relaxed vibe and is the perfect place to just unwind, watch the pelicans from the pier or even learn to surf! San Diego is also only a few hours down the coast from LA and home to the famous San Diego Zoo and Sea World as well as home to some interesting cultural heritage. You could even consider flying home via Las Vegas so you can finish your adventure with a trip to the Grand Canyon!
