Fly from London to Livingstone via Jo'burg on the overnight BA flight. On arrival, you will be met for your private transfer to the lovely Waterberry Lodge, just 35 minutes away. The lodge is a great base for discovering the extraordinary falls, and the adrenaline fuelled activities in the area. Or you might just prefer to cosy up to the grunting hippos on the water while perched on the specially constructed pontoons (sundowner in hand) or cruise along the river itself and spot the wide variety of birds, crocodiles and frogs amongst the long grasses. You may even spot some animals such as giraffe and elephant in the National Park across the river!

For the next part of your family adventure, you will transfer by road back to Livingstone Airport for your Proflight to Mfuwe via Lusakafun. We highly recommend a short stay in the Lower Zambezi National Park before flying home. It breaks the journey up and offers a different but equally inspiring safari experience. You could consider 3 nights at somewhere such as Anabezi, overlooking the mighty Zambezi River. As well as guided walks and game-drives , you'll also spend time on the river, either in 2-man Canadian canoes, or on Anabezi’s larger motor boat. It's a superb way to approach game quite closely without startling it, and for the photographer it's a dream - great close-up shots almost guaranteed. The park is very picturesque and, if you wish, you can game-view from the comfort of your private deck.

Another popular option is to incorporate a trip on the Chobe Princesses - the perfect way to see the Chobe River and it's water-loving residents, such as elephants and big cats that come down to drink at the water's edge, along with crocodiles, giraffe, zebra and herds of buffalo, roan antelope and sable. These luxury house-boats are officially moored on the Namibian side of the Chobe River but are usually accessed via the small Botswana town of Kasane. The location of the boats at the corners of the four countries make them a great option for a 2-3 night addition to the beginning or end of your holiday. The transfer time from Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport in Zambia is around two hours and you could fly home from Botswana International Airport, just 15 minutes away.
