Rooms are large with beautiful calming décor in natural tones of pale rose and taupe, mahogany furniture and homemade patchwork throws.  Luxurious touches like the plush bed linen, Molton Brown toiletries, floor-to-ceiling windows, flat screen HD LCD TVs, private bar with Martini set and sleek bathrooms add to a memorable guest experience. You can choose from a Superior King or Superior Double, but you can also opt for the view you would prefer - either the Deluxe King Courtyard View, Grand Deluxe City View, Grand Deluxe Corner King or Grand Deluxe Corner Double.

Superior Suites come with views of the Esplanade and the Back Bay skyline, a master bedroom with a king bed, one and a half bathrooms as well as a separate living and dining area. The chic Deluxe Ebersol Suite features wrap-around views of the city through floor-to-ceiling windows. The master bedroom, spacious living room, dining room with butler pantry, library and master bathroom with a dressing room are adorned with chic contemporary furnishings and art work and its open air terrace affords a panoramic scene of the Charles River, Cambridge and the city of Boston.

Clever design at the Liberty has managed to playfully preserve its rich history as a former jail within the fabric of the hotel – and the results are both characterful and luxurious. The stunning lobby lounge is housed within an airy central rotunda and cupola, just one of the inspiring spaces linked by historic catwalks. There are plenty of great public areas to relax in after a day of sightseeing where you can sit back, enjoy a drink and soak up the atmosphere of this unique setting, or take advantage of the free Wi-Fi and stay connected with friends and family while you’re away.

If you’re keen to stay active, there is a 24 hour health and fitness centre offering state-of-the-art facilities. Seasonal bicycles, Saturday Yoga and a Running Concierge are also available; with direct access to the Charles River Esplanade there are plenty of opportunities for running, biking, and sailing in warm weather.

There are five fantastic gourmet on-site dining options available at The Liberty. Clink offers a lively fine dining experience, with a great menu of Modern American Cuisine. The vestiges of original jail cells create cosy nooks to dine in and really complement the warm and inviting atmosphere. For a unique cocktail try Alibi, set in the old “drunk tank” of what was Charles Street Jail - a great spot for drinks and late night snacks.

Contemporary Italian dishes are on offer at Scampo and there is an extensive wine and cocktail list and great bar menu on offer in the Liberty Bar (we think you’ll love the veal sliders), found in the atmospheric hotel lobby. In the warmer months, The Yard offers a chic outdoor venue in the hotel’s private courtyard. Finally, Catwalk is a hotel-guest only retreat that encircles the rotunda; floating above the striking lobby it offers great views both above and below, as well as dinner service and an upscale bar menu.
