Grand Teton National Park

Montana & Wyoming, USA

Named after its mountains, Montana is shaped by massive glaciers, molten lava and inland seas. It is the gateway to Yellowstone National Park (although much of this rests in Wyoming), home to animals including grizzly and black bears, bison, wolves, moose, elk and bighorn sheep. The other striking feature of Yellowstone are the geothermal features such as the Old Faithful Geyser, fuelled by the Yellowstone Caldera, the largerst supervolcano on the Continent. Montana also features its own Dinosaur Trail for those interested in happenings many millions of years ago.

Grand Teton National Park

Wyoming is known as The Cowboy State having been home to Buffalo Bill Cody and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Visitors today can still experience a genuine Rodeo show throughout the dusty months of Summer. Set in the heart of the Rockies, it offers a wonderful, rugged setting with prairies, forests and rivers to add to its mountain ranges. Wyoming is also home to the Grand Teton National Park, where you can experience a ‘safari style’ adventure in a vehicle with pop-up roof and local scientist on board. In Winter this is also a stunning region to visit with many snowy adventures to be had in addition to wildlife viewing (although the Bears we be off hibernating!).
