They all feature plasma TV, upgraded bathrooms, air-conditioning, telephone, fridge, iron and board, hairdryer and complimentary Internet access.

The Standard Guest Room is ideal if you are looking for a little more space as it features additional square footage in lieu of a balcony and has two double beds. The Island View Room has a private furnished balcony and views of Duck Key and the resort property and is available with two queen size beds or a king size bed. Or there is the Water View Guest Room that has a spectacular view from its private balcony of the Atlantic Ocean, resort pools, and surrounding island waterways, and is available in the same configuration as before.

The Premium Lanai Room features a private sundeck and a king size bed, whilst the Premium King Room offers additional space thanks to its studio-apartment-style design. It has an oversized balcony, a sitting area and has island, pool or ocean views. The Presidential suite has 1,150 square feet of luxurious living space, a large balcony, oversized bathroom and beautiful views of the island or ocean.

If you would prefer a little more space and privacy, there are elegant Resort Villas. They all feature refined décor and plenty of living and dining space, as well as fantastic amenities.

The enclosed Saltwater Lagoon is your own private ocean where you can lay back and soak up some rays, empty your mind and enjoy the sounds of nature; the gentle lapping of the waves surrounding you and the gentle chirping of exotic birds provide a welcome respite from your busy life and help to relax body and mind. When you can tear yourself away from your sun lounger you can search for small tropical fish with a snorkel or visit the neighbouring Dolphin Connection to watch or even swim with dolphins - a magical experience.

If you’re looking to do something active, the resort boasts an excellent fitness centre plus tennis courts and bikes for hire.  There are also dive trips and scuba lessons for all ages and skill levels, kiteboarding lessons, paddle boarding and snorkelling trips.  Down at Sundance Watersports on the resort’s Marina you can also try everything from kayaking and fishing to parasailing or you can simply to choose to unwind some more and take a leisurely sunset cruise where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the Florida Keys with a glass of champagne in hand.

  • dining

Embracing the fresh, local ingredients available on the Island, the restaurants at Hawks Cay Resort offer delicious cuisine whilst making the most of the unique scenery that make the Keys so special.  All the restaurants are located on the resort property so you’re never more than a short stroll away.

The Mediterranean-inspired Ocean has a terrific breakfast buffet on offer (full or continental), light lunches featuring salads and flatbreads and an extensive dinner menu that includes the most delicious fresh pasta.  You can dine inside or outside looking at the Fire Pit and Resort Pool.  For something a little more intimate, there is the Alma, which features a sophisticated menu of Latin dishes prepared using classic European techniques.

The Beach Grill offers a good selection of fresh Caribbean seafood dishes and classic American cuisine, as well as a full bar.  Found alongside the Lagoon, the laid back atmosphere is a joy and the views of the Ocean stunning.  On the waterfront, Angler & Ale is a marvellous place for some of the Key’s favourite dishes and a cold beer.

There is also a coffee bar in the resort lobby and the Indies Grill offers American family favourites as well as a bar serving great cocktails.  Of course, if you’re feeling really relaxed after spending a day soaking up the sunshine, then you can always unwind some more and dine in the comfort of your own guest room.

  • family

Kids will love the Hawks Cay Resort – and happy children make happy parents!  There is plenty to do as a family - swimming, snorkelling, fishing, parasailing and swimming with bottlenose dolphins to name a few – though many activities incur additional charges. If your children are keen to make new friends and you would enjoy some ‘me’ time, then try the resort’s excellent kid’s activity programme. Camp Hawk offers a full schedule of supervised children’s activities for kids aged five to 12, including nature hikes, scavenger hunts, fish feedings, games and much more. There is also a fantastic 18-hole putting course and sports field, perfect for football.

The Indies Club complex is always a huge hit as there is so much to do for all of the family. There is a basketball court, sand volleyball, Pirate Ship and Indies Pools, a playground, bike rentals, a games room, an Island Adventure Camp and so much more.
