After a day spent communing with nature in the breathtaking Yosemite National Park you’ll be glad of the short journey back to the warm welcome and atmosphere of the lovely Tenaya Lodge, one of the park’s largest resorts.  Just two miles from the park’s South Gate the lodge’s rooms and cottages offer welcome creature comforts and the resort’s beautiful pools are great for those with children. Sooth your aching muscles in the resort’s sumptuous spa or simply enjoy the forest views with a relaxing drink in hand.

    The Tenaya’s spacious Lodge Rooms, Cottage Rooms and luxurious suites are air-conditioned with excellent linens, comfortable reading chairs, high-speed internet access (fee payable), cable TV, coffee maker, fridge and complimentary newspaper. All toiletries feature natural products and have eco-friendly packaging.

    Deluxe rooms, like all lodge rooms, are furnished with Native American design and feature forest views. Rooms also have a private balcony or patio, with a choice of two doubles or one king size bed.

    Junior rooms offer all the features of the deluxe rooms, plus additional living space and seating area with pull-out sofa bed and coffee table.

    The hotel’s nine Spa Rooms are 550 sq ft and elegantly appointed with private balcony, full wet bar and refrigerator, plus extra-large bath tub separate from the shower.

    The Deluxe Suites comprise a living room and separate private bedroom with a grand list of features including full wet bar, pair of armoires with cable TVs, individual climate control, plush overstuffed chairs, pull-out sofa bed and coffee table, four-poster king-size bed and more.

    The adult only luxury suites - Contemporary Suites and Garden Suites – are slightly more lavish offering a more modern look with hardwood floors, throw carpets and bright white furniture, creating an upscale feel.  Both offer dry bar with refrigerator and microwave, a separate living room with pull-out sofa bed, two 50” flat screen TVs, remote-controlled cable television, a private patio area and a semi-private bedroom and an extra-large bath area with a soaking tub separate from the shower.

    The contemporary suite is 850sq ft. The garden suite is 550sq ft.

    The Cottage Rooms are located in a sugar pine forest secluded from the main resort, but still offer easy access to the main Tenaya Lodge. These are 335 sq ft and offer a choice of two queen size beds or one king size bed. The more luxurious cottage suites offer a living room with sleeper sofa or king size bed and separate queen size bed and are 490 sq ft.

    Tenaya has the perfect facilities for cooling down after a long day in Yosemite - two indoor and three outdoor pools featuring private cabanas, a kid's splash pool and new adult-only wading pool. There are five hot tubs too – great for easing those tired muscles - two of which are for adults only.

    The onsite fitness centre is well equipped with state-of-the-art cardio and weight equipment, steam rooms and saunas. The 10,000 sq ft Ascent Spa also has 12 delightful treatment rooms for massages, facials and body treatments.

    The Tenaya General Store and Gift Shop stocks a variety of goods. A self-service laundry and small deli are also useful extra amenities.

    The helpful concierge here will be delighted to help you plan your outdoor activities – and there are many to choose from. Popular options include hiking up to Glacier Point, mountain biking, rock climbing, golf, horse riding, historic steam train rides, fly fishing, rafting and watersports on nearby Bass Lake. In the winter you could try guided snowshoe hikes, ice skating, snowmobiling and skiing at Badger Pass.

    Tenaya Lodge features five seasonal dining options ranging from casual to fine dining allowing everyone in your party to find something to suit their taste. Embers is a fine-dining restaurant, whilst the Timberloft Pizzeria is a more casual, family-friendly dining experience.

    At Jackalope's Bar & Grill relax and enjoy pub fare, delicious local beers, wines and spirits, made-to-order grilled burgers, sandwiches, speciality salads and more. Children have their own menu here. Sierra Restaurant offers breakfast and dinner and also has a children's menu.

    The Barefoot Bar is open seasonally and is located poolside, offering a full bar and menu of summertime food. The Parkside Deli serves coffee, bagels, muffins, healthy snacks and picnic lunches. In the summer months, the Old West Summerdale BBQ offers a taste of the Old West, including live entertainment.

    The lodge is extremely family friendly and offers chargeable daytime and evening adventure clubs and children's activities include archery, a climbing wall and horseriding, together with ice skating and snowmobiling in the winter months. A chargeable babysitting service is available with advance notice. There is also a game room offering video games, pinball machines, pool table and air hockey.

    Three onsite restaurants – Timberloft, Sierra and Jackalopes - offer children’s menus and the BBQs in the summer months are also a treat for the whole family.

    Accommodation-wise there are several good options for families. Rooms can be selected with two double beds for a family of four. The extended Double Deluxe rooms offer an additional 75 square feet of space with a pull-out sofa bed and private balcony or patio.

    A short walk from the main lodge, Tenaya’s Cottages offer the benefits of a more secluded escape which is ideal for families seeking more privacy. Please note these do have a staircase at the main entry so may not be suitable for very small children.

    Situated just two miles from Yosemite’s South Gate the lodge is perfectly positioned for visitors wishing to explore this wonderful wilderness.

    The Lodge is 55 miles north of Fresno International Airport and around four and a half hours from San Francisco or Los Angeles International Airports. There is a complimentary valet service available here at all times.
