  • rooms

There are 327 spacious guestrooms including 43 suites on offer at the Park Hyatt with sweeping views of the foothills, swimming pools, golf course or Batiquitos Lagoon. Décor is at once chic and modern.

Alongside spectacular views and the private balconies offered in all types of rooms, the Panoramic View King rooms offer 540 sq ft of luxury and feature either a king size bed or two double beds.

Rooms at the Park Hyatt all contain a sitting area furnished with a sofa or armchair, 42-inch plasma TV and DVD player. Wifi access, in-room safe and complimentary robes come as standard and the nightly turn down service (including chocolates) just adds to the decadence. All have large marble bathrooms including dual vanity sinks, showers and deep soaking tubs.

Alternatively take one of the suites. Park Suites offer 855 sq ft of space, two large balconies or landscaped terrace overlooking the sparkling pool or Palm Courtyard and separate living room area.

If you really want to stretch out opt for a Park Deluxe Suite that has all these features, but with an enormous 1,140 sq ft of space. The Park Luxury Suites are 1,640 sq ft and also have a dining area with seating for up to eight people and a separate pantry - ideal for entertaining.

The most luxurious option here is the 2,140 sq ft Presidential Suite that exudes the elegance of an Italian villa with imported marble, fabrics and murals. Guests enjoy two flower-bordered balconies off the bedrooms and living room with panoramic views of the golf course and Batiquitos Lagoon. There is also a dining room with seating for 12 and a separate pantry.

  • facilities & activities

Surrounded by rolling hills and warm Pacific breezes the facilities at the Park Hyatt are outstanding. A striking entrance and simply breathtaking views feature alongside all the services you’d expect from a five star resort, including a 24-hour concierge service.

The choice of activities here is extensive. Set within acres of beautifully maintained landscape are a tempting selection of pools, including a 3,200 sq ft outdoor family swimming pool complete with shallow wading pool and water playground for the little ones. Alternatively you can retire to the peaceful ‘adults only’ tranquility pool with its panoramic views of Batiquitos Lagoon and the ocean. Children and adults will also enjoy a refreshing dip in the Lagoon pool. Dry off on a chaise longue or rent a cabana on the lovely landscaped deck overlooking the pool and indulge in a homemade cocktail. If the mood takes you why not while away the afternoon bobbing in the warm waters of one of the two whirlpools.

For those seeking further relaxation, the Aviara Spa offers a peaceful alternative in the cool, 150 sq ft of space, including 20 treatment rooms, whirlpool, saunas and steam rooms; we think you’ll emerge feeling beautifully refreshed.

When you’re ready to exert yourself again there are a number of more vigorous activities available. An Arnold Palmer designed 18-hole championship golf course or six ‘state of the art’ tennis courts await  (including complimentary rackets, balls and shoes) plus a variety of other exciting ball sports including croquet, badminton and volleyball.

Then, of course, there are the beaches. As you’d expect on the sun drenched California coast there are plenty of golden hued beaches to choose from. The dedicated Beach Concierge will provide you with complimentary chairs, umbrellas and towels for hotel guests to take to the coast (please note the hotel is not beachfront). Or for those wannabe surfer dudes, there is the option of a Surf Concierge on hand to teach you all you need to know (additional charges apply).

  • dining

All tastes are catered for at The Park Hyatt, with the emphasis always firmly on fresh, seasonal, local produce with a twist.

With an impressive five dining options to choose from your party should never be stuck for something to suit their mood or palate. Try the California Bistro with its locally sourced Californian specialties for a breakfast buffet or a la carte lunch overlooking the lagoon and golf course.

The Ocean Pool Bar and Grill offers laid back poolside light bites such as sandwiches, wraps, salads and, should the afternoon call for it, cocktails!

The Argyle Steakhouse showcases a delectable choice of 150 types of wine whilst offering good old-fashioned seasonal American cuisine, including prime cuts of beef, fresh seafood, or a lighter variety of salads and sandwiches during the day. We highly recommend the sumptuous brunch delight of white chocolate and pecan Nutella-stuffed French toast!

Or capture the warmth of the Mediterranean at Vivace, the resort’s Italian restaurant served within the confines of warm, elegant décor.  Finally, The Lobby Lounge offers afternoon tea, light bites or evening drinks with incredible ocean vistas and intimate live music.

  • family

With dedicated family services and a variety of activities for children of all ages, the Park Hyatt is a great choice for a family stay. Although there is plenty to keep them occupied within the lush surroundings of the hotel, the famous attractions in and around San Diego are an easy ride out.

Alongside the wide choice of pools, including large family pool, toddlers pool and splash area, is the complimentary Game Room featuring three large rooms with a wide variety of games including billiards, shuffleboard, football and board games. Those difficult-to-please teens will also love the Riptide Lounge with its arcade style games, six play station centres and air hockey.

More organised activities are also on offer at the Aviara Kids Academy for children aged four to 12. Set in the three and a half-acre lawn there are six different types of sports for youngsters to choose from alongside beautiful trails and lagoons. Costs are $40 per child for a half-day session, $50 including lunch or $80 for full day including lunch.

When little ones have had enough fun and need to be tucked up in bed there is also the option of the children’s library and DVD selection. Babysitting services are also provided.

Younger guests will also love to order their own lunch from a special children’s menu created by the chef and offered throughout the resort. The dedicated kiddy café also provides pint sized picnic tables for smaller guests to enjoy lunch or a snack.

All rooms can accommodate families of up to four people with two double beds. Palm Court and Park King rooms include a sofa bed for little ones. There are options of inter connecting rooms and suites should you need more space.
