The one, two or three bedroom residences feature city or bay views, a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, living space with fireplace and large screen TV and a dining area.

The living spaces feature dark wood floors, an open loft-like ceiling and exposed original red brick, creating an inviting space to relax in.  Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom.  Each Residence has an ipad for guests’ use.

The one bedroom residences can accommodate up to four guests, the two bedroom residences up to six guests and the three bedroom residences up to eight people.

As one would expect from a Fairmont property the service here is second to none. The hotel offers a 24-hour butler and concierge service and a chauffeured luxury house car service on a first-come, first-served basis anywhere within a two-mile radius from 7.30am until 10.30pm. Guests can enjoy their own chef and waiter service in their residence if they wish, for a charge.

The hotel has outdoor view terraces with fire pits, a billiard room and TV lounge hosting daily late afternoon complimentary cheese and wine tasting.  Pre-arrival grocery shopping can also be arranged for a fee. Should you wish to have a night in with a good DVD you’re bound to find something to suit your taste in the hotel’s collection of 800 films.

The West Coast’s easy going capital, San Francisco is bursting with activities and really tourist-friendly to navigate by foot, bicycle, bus or the city’s old fashioned trolley.

The city’s choice of restaurants is fabulous – there are 17 Michelin-starred eateries alone. We think you’ll love exploring the nearby waterfront trails leading over the Golden Gate Bridge towards Sausalito, a lovely area to wander around at your leisure.

Culture vultures will enjoy the city’s vibrant theatre scene and exploring excellent museums and art galleries. Children will love the Steinhart Aquarium. A visit to Alcatraz provides an interesting look at the island’s history through a self-guided audio tour.

Should the sightseeing get too much the concierge can organise you an in-residence massage.

Daily continental breakfast is included for guests from 7am-10am.  Though the accommodation here is perfectly equipped for self-catering a personal chef and waiter can also be hired for your residence should the mood take you.

A variety of excellent restaurants (think Vietnamese and fresh seafood) are available in Ghirardelli Square as is the Fabulous Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop in the Clock Tower Building.  Further afield the choice of restaurants in San Francisco is simply world class. The concierge will be happy to offer recommendations to suit your palate.

The hotel welcomes children of all ages and the residences work really well as a truly luxurious and spacious home from home with all mod cons.

Children’s DVDs are available from reception and babysitting can be arranged for a fee.  Sofa beds are available in the sitting room areas of the residences.

location

The hotel is located on the waterfront on the west side of Fisherman’s Wharf overlooking San Francisco Bay. The historic building was once home to Ghirardelli’s famous chocolate factory and young and old can still enjoy plenty of chocolate goodies from outlets in the square along with fantastic shops, dining options and spa facilities. The hotel is also close to a beautiful park that is perfect for people watching.

You are just 15 miles from San Francisco’s International Airport. The area is also the gateway to the nearby wine country of Napa Valley.
