One&Only Royal Mirage, Dubai
MenuSet in 60 acres of lush gardens on its own private beach and with stunning architecture that lends an authentic Arabian feel the One&Only Royal Mirage is an oasis of calm in a rapidly changing city. One of the few low rise hotels in Dubai – and widely considered one of the best - guests here can choose from the resort’s three distinct sections: the Palace, Arabian Court and The Residence and Spa. The result is an opulent and intimate atmosphere with the facilities of a larger resort. The hotel’s traditional steam room and spa are first class and a great kids club and the option to book interconnecting rooms make this a fantastic choice for families. We think you’ll love the discreet but attentive service (the poolside staff love to polish your sunglasses!) and wonderful selection of excellent restaurants too.

rooms
Guests can choose from three distinct resorts - The Palace, The Arabian Court and The Residence and Spa.
The Palace is themed around rekindling the dignity of Old Arabia where guests can wander through the lush gardens and meandering water features and streams. All rooms are sea facing with a private balcony or terrace and adorned with ornamental arches, terracotta tiling and custom made furniture. There are 231 rooms and suites to choose from ranging from Superior Deluxe Rooms (45 square metres) and Superior Executive Suites (100 square metres) to Gold Club Superior Suites and Gold Club Suites offering the same space but with access to a private lounge and reception and finally two Royal Suites with 325 square metres of space and exceptional facilities.
The Arabian Court is crafted in the spirit of the Orient with dramatic symmetrical architecture and a rich landscape of courtyards and fountains. All rooms face Palm Bay and the Arabian Court’s 500m of beachfront and feature a private balcony or terrace. Rooms, which are all slightly bigger than those at The Palace, range from 160 Deluxe Rooms (50 square metres), 8 Executive Suites (125 metres) to two Prince Suites (145 square metres) with a separate sitting room.
The most exclusive of the three resorts is the Residence and Spa with two private restaurants and pool reserved only for guests staying here. This intimate and secluded sanctuary echoes the warmth of the Arabian Gulf with soft tones recalling the desert landscape. All rooms are sea-facing and range from 28 Prestige Rooms (58 square metres), 16 Junior Suites (85 square metres) and four Executive Suites (118 square metres) to one 300 metre square Garden Villa nestled within private gardens on the beach front with intimate shaded terrace and its own swimming pool.
All rooms feature enhanced technology with a 40-inch LCD TV, DVD player, iPod docking station and high-speed internet access.

facilities & activities
All three sections of the hotel have beautifully designed temperature-controlled oversized swimming pools. Use of the hotel’s gym, three floodlit tennis courts and basketball court are also included in the price of your stay. There is an excellent Watersports Centre offering banana and donut rides, knee boarding, wake boarding, kayaking, aqua cycle, hobbie cat sailing, windsurfing, water skiing and speed boat cruises at an additional charge. There is also a golf putting green that guests can use for a fee.
The resort’s spa and award winning traditional steam bath is a destination in its own right set amidst palm trees and water fountains and with its own private driveway. Within the spa there are 12 private treatment rooms and a wide range of excellent ESPA therapies to choose from. The Oriental steam bath with its ornate winding corridors and dramatic archways is a wonderfully relaxing and evocative experience – the perfect antidote to a hard day’s shopping.

dining
There are eight excellent restaurants to choose from within the resort boasting a wide range of exceptional food and exemplary service from smiley and delightful staff. Many of the restaurants boast wonderful views across the city. When you tire of the cityscape you can choose to dine on the beach or overlooking the gardens.
Options include the Beach Bar and Grill overlooking Palm Island where you can dine on a shaded terrace by day or by candlelight at night and which serves an impressive array of freshly grilled seafood and prime steaks. Nina is a colourful new-wave Indian restaurant with food rivaling the best in London. The very best of Moroccan Cuisine is on offer in the Tagine restaurant. The Rotisserie, set in an intimate courtyard terrace with a veranda overlooking the gardens serves cuisine based on traditional recipes from Europe. If you stay at the Residence we think you’ll love the spectacular Afternoon Tea here, reserved exclusively for its own guests. There are five different bars to try too ranging from the stellar rooftop lounge with its chic chill out vibe to the vibrant energy of the Kasbar.

family
We think families will love the fact that this resort offers space without a feeling of being overwhelming in size. The beach and gardens are great for children and there is even a playground on site. Children can book into swimming and tennis lessons too.
Babysitting can be arranged with advance notice and children’s meals or smaller portions are available at most of the restaurants. Guests also have complimentary use of buggies, bottle warmers, sterilisers and car seats. There is a complimentary laundry service for children under two and a half price laundry service for children under 12. Nintendo Wii, PS3 and board games are also available.
The KidsOnly kids club offers complimentary supervised and pre-arranged activities for children ages 4 – 11 from 10am until 12.30pm, 2.30pm – 5pm and 6pm to 10pm with children typically joining their parents for meals. Activities, which are tailored to various ages, include camel riding, belly dancing, sand sculpting, henna painting, Arabic lessons and Arabic camping. Children aged two and three can participate if accompanied by a parent or babysitter.
The One and Only Royal Mirage has a well deserved reputation for being child friendly - it is the only hotel in Dubai to guarantee interconnecting rooms in advance of arrival. In general either up to one child under 12 in an additional rollaway bed and one child under two in a cot or one teenager aged 13-16 can share a room or suite with parents. We particularly recommend the Palace for families.

location
The hotel is just a 30- 40 minute transfer from Dubai Airport and 55-70 minutes from Abu Dhabi airport – but feels a world away from both.
Situated opposite Palm Island the One and Only Royal Mirage boasts the longest beachfront of any Dubai hotel – a stunning and beautifully maintained one kilometre stretch of Jumeirah beach. Every hour guests can take a complimentary boat ride out to the One and Only’s sister resort on Palm Island where they can try other restaurant options and view Dubai from a different perspective.
The hotel is also just 20 minutes from Dubai City Centre, the Gold and Spice Souks and the desert. It is also opposite the prestigious Emirates Golf Club.
