location
Superbly located in charming Plaza Las Nazarenas, Inkaterra La Casona is just a hop and skip through lovely cobblestone streets to the main square. Within walking distance of restaurants, shops, museums and other reminders of Cusco's majestic past yet just 15 minutes from the airport (flights hourly from Lima, daily from Puno, Arequipa, Puerto Maldonado and La Paz) and train station (serving the Sacred Valley and Aguas Calientes for Machu Picchu as well as the Andean Explorer to Puno).
Please be aware that at 3,400 meters (11,152 ft) a.s.l. some visitors to Cusco do feel the effect of the high-altitude. We recommend spending your first few days in the Sacred Valley to acclimatise before heading to Aguas Calientes for Machu Picchu and then spending time in Cusco, as the latter is the highest in altitude. If you do experience problems, keep well-hydrated, rest and seek medical attention (oxygen is usually given to combat the effects and is available at this hotel - just ask for assistance).
