Southern Caribbean Coast, Costa Rica
One of the most charming areas of the country, still relatively unspoilt and with beautiful palm-fringed beaches. The local Afro-Caribbean population give this region a distinctly different cultural feel to the rest of the country and of course, there is great Creole cuisine. There is plenty for nature lovers too with the surrounding rainforest teaming with birds and animals. Snorkelling on the small reef at Manzanillo National Park is among the best in the country.
