  • rooms

With a range of room options, Casa Corcovado caters well for couples and families. The charming bungalows are clustered on a hilltop high above the sea, surrounded by tropical gardens and rainforest. The secluded Honeymoon Suites are especially popular, hidden away in the lush tropical greenery of the beautiful gardens. Each offers laid-back comfort and style in harmony with the natural surroundings. They feature a queen bed with mosquito net, cooled by an overhead ceiling fan. Each has cushioned benches, a relaxing sitting area, and a large, tiled bathroom.

The wood-beamed ceiling, shutters, and stained glass in the doors are hand-crafted by Costa Rican artisans. Outside, strategically-placed hammocks are just the spot for enjoying a good book – perhaps with a glass of red wine from the wooden chest that serves as your Jungle Minibar. Follow the walkways to the Deluxe Bungalows, tucked away in their own private garden. These larger bungalows offer a queen bed plus either 2 or 3 additional beds perfect for accommodating families or groups of friends. The bathroom shower features glass and bamboo doors that face the gardens and the contemporary finish coupled with thoughtful details evoke a relaxing spa-like ambiance.

Set against the backdrop of the jungle, the largest bungalows are divided into 2 interconnecting Junior Suites making them ideal for family groups or friends. Each of the suites features a bedroom containing a queen bed and single bed (both with mosquito nets). There is a comfortably-furnished living room with fold-out sofa bed, and a screened porch, a great place for relaxing after a day of adventure.

  • facilities & activities

The larger of Casa Corcovado’s 2 pools, el Solar, is located near the bar. The shallow end is separated from the deep end, providing a safe area for young swimmers. There are loungers, and chairs and tables with umbrellas, potted palms and bougainvillea on the flagstone surrounds. For those who want to be poolside but out of the sun, there’s a tiled-roof rancho where you can also order a light lunch, while enjoying the sounds of the rainforest and the waterfall.

If you are looking for a more secluded swim, head for the Forest Pool, a spring-fed swimming pool hidden away in the forest.

  • dining

The covered but open-sided El Bosque Bar is surrounded by virgin rainforest and fruit trees, which attract birds, monkeys and other animals. It’s the perfect place for wildlife-spotting, and for a drink, of course. Non-alcoholic fruit drinks and beverages are always available.

Enjoy delicious meals in the jungle dining room, Los Vitrales. The chefs have created a menu full of style and originality, which combines the best of the traditional classics with locally available, fresh fruit and vegetables.

Due to the nature of Casa Corcovado, there may be set times for dining with a set menu offered.

  • family

Families are very welcome at Casa Corcovado, although due to its remote location in the rainforest it is best suited to older children.

The larger Junior Suites which interconnect work particularly well for families.

Many of the activities can be adapted for children and babysitting can be arranged upon request.

  • location

Casa Corcovado is located on the Osa Peninsula in southwestern Costa Rica. The 170-acre private reserve borders Corcovado National Park, the “crown jewel” in Costa Rica’s world-renowned national park system.

The jungle lodge offers the closest accommodation to the park.

It is just a 40-minute flight from San José to Palmar Sur, and also from Quepos to Palmar Sur. On arrival you’ll be met by your guide for the 20-minute road journey to the reception center, ‘La Hacienda’, in Sierpe. Here you’ll have a chance to have a drink and freshen up, before the shared 1hr 30 boat transfer down the Sierpe River and then along the Pacific coast to the hotel - an adventure in itself!
