Inspired by Pre-Inca ruins located outside San Pedro de Atacama, the 12 spacious adobe suites have charming thatched roofs, and large bathrooms which open into private solariums with al-fresco showers. The round shape and natural building materials keep the suites cool in the heat of the day, and warm on chilly evenings although all rooms also offer air-conditioning. Choose from a Round Suite or a Superior Round Suite - both can be configured with a king-size bed or twin beds but the Superior Suites benefit from a bath as well as a shower and twin vanity in the bathroom and more space. They can also accommodate a child's bed for families of 3.

Guests stay on an all-inclusive basis which includes private transfers from Calama Airport, lodging, all meals, beverages (including premium wine and spirits), private guided excursions and personal 4WD. 

The pre-arrival guest questionnaire ensures your stay is geared entirely to your interests and needs. From the moment you arrive, you'll have the support of your very own guide and a 4WD
vehicle, allowing you to explore the region at you own pace. This may mean lingering to contemplate a landscape, driving over kilometers of pure, natural surroundings to capture that perfect
photograph, or letting yourself be guided through the full majesty of Northern Chile. Choose between full-day excursions (4-6 hours) with lunch included or two half-day excursions (2-5 hours), returning to have lunch at Awasi after the first excursion and heading out again in the afternoon. From pleasant walks to more demanding treks, horse-riding, mountain-biking, bird-watching, astronomic tours, visits to archaeological sites, salt flats and geysers, or to incredible valleys hidden in the midst of the desert, the possibilities are as endless as the horizon. The highly experienced, bilingual guides are fully-trained and vehicles are equipped with GPS and communication system ensuring both comfort and safety whatever you choose to do.

After days spent exploring the impressive natural scenery of the Atacama Desert, return to Awasi Atacama for a swim in the pool, perhaps an in-room massage, a drink by the fire pit and long evening meals in the restaurant. Teens especially will be pleased to hear there is complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the property

Guests stay on a full-board basis and are offered a daily menu that features the finest local ingredients, adapted to guest requirements. The open-air restaurant serving sophisticated Andean fare is a highlight and if you'd like to try your hand at recreating some of the dishes on offer you can book a cookery lesson with the chef (subject to availability). There is an open bar offering a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including some exquisite Chilean wines.

Children over the age of 10 are welcome; the private guide and 4WD make Awasi a great option for families as you can go at your own pace. Children between 10 and 18 years of age, pay 50% of the regular rate. There’s ample space to add an additional bed in the Superior Suites if you are travelling with children.

There are numerous daily flights from Santiago de Chile (SCL) north to Calama (CJC), the closest domestic airport to the hotel. The flight duration is 2 hours. Your private guide will await you at the airport in your personal 4WD vehicle for the lodge transfer (90 minutes).

Awasi Atacama is located in the town of San Pedro de Atacama, a few blocks from the historical center, the market, the old church and the square - offfering guests the opportunity to experience authentic "town life", from an intimate, secluded base.
