There are several room types to choose from, depending on your budget and preferences. All have a fully stocked mini-bar, widescreen LCD TV, wifi and luxury toiletries.
Superior Rooms have a queen sized bed and are decorated in classic Portuguese style, with colourful accents and dark-wood furnishings. Each room features paintings by Brazilian artists, Ludmilla de Montes and traditional azulejos “painted tiles”, designed exclusively for Belmond Hotel das Cataratas.

Deluxe Rooms are more spacious and feature a bright and airy décor. For something special, opt for the Deluxe Falls View Rooms which also boast spectacular views over the Falls.

The Junior Suites, decorated in a luxurious Portuguese-colonial style, offer lovely views of the lush tropical gardens from your private balcony. The spacious bathroom features twin, marble-topped vanity units and a bath with a shower. There is also a cosy living room with a writing desk and IPod dock.

For a special treat or to celebrate a landmark occasion, the best rooms in the hotel are the spacious and very comfortable Cataratas Suites. Thoughtfully designed they enjoy superb views of the lush surroundings from the balconies. With a living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms these suites are a great option for families or friends travelling together. The elegant bathrooms offer twin, marble-topped vanity units and a bath with a shower.

At the heart of the hotel is the beautifully designed swimming pool. Heated throughout the winter months (mid-May to mid-August), you can enjoy a dip whatever the time of year. There is a separate children’s pool for younger guests to splash about in.

For those who like to stay fit whilst on holiday there is a fully equipped, air-conditioned gym with lovely views over the pool. Fresh water, fruit, towels and a Bose iPod station are supplied.

Tennis fans will appreciate the hotel courts set within extensive gardens. Equipment can be provided by the hotel, so there’s no excuse not to have a game here during your stay.

The Ipê Grill, adjacent to the pool, serves a delicious buffet breakfast. After dark, there is a popular ‘gaucho’ style barbecue.

For fine dining head to Itaipu Restaurant which offers Brazilian-international fusion dishes. Sit out on the verandah so you can enjoy the lush hotel grounds that stretch all the way to the falls.

Bar Tarobá is the perfect spot for a sundowner; sip a cooling caipirinha as you sit back and enjoy some of the live music the hotel lays on for guests.

Cots and roll-away beds can be provided, as can children's bathrobes and slippers. There is a children’s menu in the restaurants and after the thrills and spills of the waterfallls and swimming pool, if your children are after some down time, the hotel can provide playstations, DVDs and toys.

location

The hotel is located in the heart of the National Park, bordering the Iguacu falls. The town and airport are about a 30 minute drive away. With flights to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo taking under 2 hours, it is very straightforward to include a short stopover here as part of your itinerary.
