Inspired by the turn-of-the-century plantation houses, this elegant hotel situated on a lovely beach on the Eastern side of the island. Guest are welcomed with gracious hospitality and have the opportunity to enjoy the excellent Sanctuary Spa and a range of fine dining experiences.

    Guests are accommodated in 135 elegant rooms including those with Garden View (54 square metres) and Ocean Views (56 square metres). Colonial Ocean Front Rooms (58 square metres) offer stunning views close to the shore. All air conditional rooms have a mini-bar and shutters leading on to private terraces or balcony whilst benefiting from a personal 24-hour butler service.

    The hotel also boasts 28 spacious Suites including Colonial Garden View Junior (86 square metres), Colonial Garden View Senior (106 square metres), Colonial Ocean View (164 square metres) and Colonial Ocean Front (116 square metres) with separate living area. All suites (with the exception of Garden View Junior Suites) also have the benefit of a computer with free internet access, CD and DVD player and tea and coffee making facilities.

    Rooms can accommodate one child sharing with parents and are also available on an inter-leading basis. Garden Junior Suites are suitable for up to 1 child under 12 and 1 infant in cot. All suites of this type interconnect with a second bedroom if required.

    All larger suites have a separate living area and can accommodate up to 2 children under 12 with parents. Colonial Ocean View and Ocean Front Suites also interconnect with Ocean View and Ocean Front rooms.

    There are 3 floodlit tennis courts, aerobics and fitness equipment, one freshwater swimming pool, a children's pool and Jacuzzi.

    Activities include a variety of water sports such as scuba diving, deep sea fishing, water skiing, windsurfing, Hobie Cats, canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, snorkelling, glass bottom boat trips, a catamaran cruise, fishing and diving, plus a vast selection of land activities such as golf and horse riding, which can be arranged nearby. For those wishing to have a more relaxing time, the recently refurbished Sanctuary Spa offers a range of holistic treatments, taking its inspiration from "Zen" philosophy, tending to guests' individual needs.

    Credit will be given to guests on Half-board when they dine in the restaurant of their choice in the evening which generally covers the cost of a 2 – 3 course meal.

    The Dining Room, with a colonial feel enhanced by wooden shutters opening to views of the Ocean, is open for breakfast and a la carte dinners.

    The Verandah serves an impressive selection of light dishes on the terrace at lunch time.

    Located at the beachside, The Plantation, offering an original approach to seafood and Creole cuisine, is open for lunch and dinner and plays host to live performances three times a week.

    The Gourmet Kiosk serves delicious sweet snacks and pancakes in mid afternoon.

    The bar is the focus of the spacious lounge with sumptuous sofas and genteel ambiance, serves drinks throughout the day and late into the evening.

    Children from 3 to 12 years have complimentary access to the Planters Children’s Club from 9am to 10pm and there is also babysitting available. As well as catering for the younger guests, there are activities tailored to suit teenagers and space for them to be independent, making this an ideal family environment. The daily programme includes treasure hunts, face painting, hikes and picnics, glass-bottom boat tours, snorkelling classes, theme days, pony rides, sports competitions and evening entertainment such as plays or films.

    Delicious buffet lunches and dinners can be enjoyed outdoors under a tropical canopy in the gardens or indoor. The meals have been designed to satisfy even the pickiest eaters, offering a wide assortment of fun dishes and food activities, such as making and cooking their own pizza in small baking ovens.

    The hotel is on the East coast of Mauritius, 48km from the airport. The east coast is dotted with several lagoons and tiny cove-beaches, ensuring shelter from the cool southeast trade winds, as well as the stunning long stretch of beach named Belle Mare.
