With an emphasis on privacy and comfort at the Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa, the superbly generous accommodation will not disappoint. The luxurious villas span coconut groves, lush vegetation and the beautiful lagoon, and offer world-class facilities. All of the villas are air-conditioned and feature satellite TV, DVD/Blu-ray player, home theatre surround sound system, IDD telephone lines, in-room safe, mini bar and tea and Nespresso coffee making facilities. Each villa also comes with a set of bicycles – a great way to explore the Island!
Sunset Beach Villas are scattered across the coastline and built around an open floor level outdoor terrace. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, they feature a luxuriously furnished lounge and bedroom with a separate dressing area, an indoor/outdoor bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub. With its earthy shade of brown beige and green, these are rustic but elegant domains. The Beach Residences with Plunge Pool have the same great features but also have an open-air al fresco garden dining pavilion.
The Deluxe Water Villas with Pools are erected on wooden stilts above the lagoon and have a bedroom, sitting area, indoor bathroom with walk in closet, Jacuzzi free standing tub, an exclusive infinity pool, and sundeck and in villa dining area with a stunning view of the lagoon. So perfect, you may not want to leave your room! The Ocean Suites with Pools also stand perched upon wooden stilts but have two bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as a living and dining area, huge veranda, and infinity pool. The Ocean Villas with Pools are stunning; hanging over the ocean, these newly built single bedroom villas again have dining and living areas, swimming pools, indoor bathroom with a TV, outdoor deck area and an in-villa dining area on the sun deck.
For the epitome of exclusivity, privacy and refinement there are the Hideaway Palaces perched on natural sandbanks. Comprising five individual villas on top of a timber deck and surrounded by private infinity pools, each villa has a master bedroom with a walk-in closet, en suite indoor/outdoor bathroom with Jacuzzi bathtubs, two guest bedrooms with en-suite indoor and outdoor bathrooms, a spacious indoor dining pavilion with a roof terrace for star gazing, an open air dining pavilion on the deck, a pantry pavilion for the preparation of snacks and cocktails by your dedicated butler and to make those sultry summer evenings even more special, there is a Maldivian Swing (Undholi) Pavilion. There are so many activities to choose from at the Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa, every day can be unique. If you enjoy your exercise, you will love the fantastic Sports Complex. You can take a jog along the beach, cycle along the hidden trails, or enjoy a work out in the state-of-the-art gym. There are two floodlit tennis courts, or try a game of volleyball on the sand, there’s table tennis, fuss ball, pool, and a great bar within the complex that serves healthy juices and energy drinks.
As you would expect with this amazing setting, there are plenty of water-based experiences to be had. There is a great PADI licensed Dive centre; the famous Dhonakulhi reef is only 10 to 30 metres away and manta rays, dolphins, turtles and whale sharks are often spotted. There are over 20 fantastic dive sites that can be accessed from the resort on a traditional dhoni sailboat. There are also a range of watersports on offer including catamaran sailing, wind surfing, kite boarding, and kayaking. If you wish to venture further afield you can sail out on a dhoni and explore the nearby inhabited islands. There are fishing trips, cruises, cultural excursions and if you are lucky enough to have your own yacht there is a fully-equipped, state-of-the-art Marina that will be able to accommodate it.
If you prefer to stay on dry land, then you can relax by the marvellous infinity pool which boasts views of the Indian Ocean, or take a dip in the adjacent Jacuzzi. If you want to read a book whilst sitting by the pool, there are plenty to choose from in the resort’s library or you could take a wander around the delightful boutiques on offer; locally crafted gifts, jewellery, sports equipment and spa products are all available.
If you’re feeling like pampering yourself, there is the Hideaway Spa and Beauty Palace. Making the most of its dramatic Indian Ocean location, it has been designed to include beautiful internal waterways, water walls, open areas and sandy floors; world-class spa treatments and massage therapies are on offer in 12 delightful treatment rooms. -

The Hideaway Beach Resort has two fantastic restaurants. Matheefaru has stunning sunset views and serves international dishes with a distinctly French touch. Its lavish breakfast buffet is delicious and there are some great themed buffets in the evening with live cooking stations and a la carte menu options. The over-water Samsara serves exciting Asian fusion cuisine with a delicate blend of Thai, Chinese and Japanese influences, on its open-air terrace. A la carte options are also available.
The Sunrise Pool Café offers tropical refreshment and great dishes from Asia and Europe through the day and evening. With its chill-out music and light sea breeze, you will love the laid back atmosphere. The Meeru Bar is a great spot for a sundowner, with great ocean views and luscious cocktails, spirits and champagne on offer; a good spot for a casual meal with pizzas and fresh snacks from the Meeru grill available. Should you wish to dance the night away, the Waves Discotheque offers live entertainment, a shisha area, theme nights and ladies nights. There are a generous range of drinks on offer and light snacks and a la carte options too.
Of course, if you would prefer some privacy there are plenty more dining options; enjoy a candle-lit dinner on a sandbank under the stars, find a secluded part of the beach, or stay in the comfort of your own villa. -
family
Families are made to feel very welcome at the Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa. Children will love the wonderful marine life of this outer Atoll. There is a Children’s Swimming Pool and DVD’s available for in-room use. Children’s menus are available too.
The Tender Hearts Children’s Club is open to children aged between three and 12 and has a large playground area, a small library, board games and bicycles. There are some great indoor and outdoor activities arranged to keep little ones entertained including painting, crab races, movies, sandcastle making, dance parties, and games. Babysitting can also be provided on request for a fee.
Up to two children aged up to 12 can share all room types in the separate sitting room space. Cots are available on request. There are also spacious one and two bedroom Family Villas (some with pools) available for those families requiring additional space. These enjoy an open-air terrace in their own lush private garden leading to the beach. -

The resort is a 45 minute domestic flight and 20 minute speedboat ride form Malé International Airport. -
