On the southernmost tip of the volcanic island of Lanzarote lies an oasis of white washed walls and terracotta rooftops that is home to a family holiday paradise.     All rooms and suites have been artfully decorated in a colonial Canarian style and have lovely pool, garden or sea views and a turn down service every evening. There is extensive choice in type of room from Superior, to Double Superior (with their own private terraces) to the Double Superior Relax – exclusively for adults.

    The gorgeous suites also all offer fabulous views and spacious living quarters. Choose from the Junior Suite or Suite Excellance with their private terraces, separate living area and king sized or single beds. The Duplex Suites offer two level living, a partial sea view and separate lounge area. For the ultimate in luxury then go for the Presidential or Royal Suites with a personalised check in, welcome bottle of bubbles, daily treats such as a basket of fruit or box of chocolates, separate entrance halls, generous living space and spectacular vistas. And if that isn't enough there's also a personal holiday assistant on hand to take care of every detail for you.

    The huge array of entertainment and facilities at the resort will keep all members of the family entertained for weeks. With the choice of three large pools (two are saltwater), two kids pools and an adults only whirlpool, the most difficult question will be which sun drenched lounger to flop to afterwards while you take advantage of the call service for drinks under the shady palms.

    For some serious pampering then head to the Thalasso Centre Spa with its indoor marine water thermal pool, 50 treatment rooms, sauna, turkish baths and the final flourish; the Arabian Nights' pool with underwater music and star filled ceiling.

    For the energetic there are choices galore. Floodlit tennis courts, beach volleyball, 5 aside football, boules, table tennis and pool tables. And of course the gorgeous beaches just outside the door, with their sheltered coves, velvet soft sand, crystal clear waters, and a glittering menu of exciting watersports.

    Near to the hotel you'll also find the vibrant old town or the upmarket Marina with lively restaurants, cafes and twice weekly market where you can pick up all manner of arts, crafts and jewellery.

    There is a choice of eight different restaurants offering tempting international or local menus. Choose from A La Carte or Gourmet Buffet after you've sampled your cocktail from one of the open air bars, all of which entertain with live music every evening.

    A La Carte options include Isla De Lobos, the figure head of the restaurants here (and adults only) it offers stunning sea views and organic, locally sourced ingredients fused with an avant garde Spanish flare. There's also Kampai with its authentic Teppanyaki tables or Italian Don Giovanni which uses only the finest of Italian produce. For lighter bites then there is traditional Spanish tapas at +Tapas, served alongside delicious Spanish wines or stay poolside at Chiringuito and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and selection of fresh fish, seafoods and light snacks.

    Alternatively there is a mouth watering selection of gourmet buffets. Try Yaiza with its fine wines and beers and live slow cooking. Or the cosy La Piazzeta with its big open ovens and Italian dishes, or the open aired terrace and sea views of La Hacienda. Enjoy the fun vibe and traditional relaxed Mexican fare.

    The hotel is a great choice for families of any age and size. There is a wide choice of rooms and suites that are ideal for a family stay. These range from spacious junior to one-bedroom suites, with the option of interconnecting rooms for larger families. The icing on the cake however are the Family Suites which have been designed for optimum comfort. With large furnished balconies, separate bedrooms and spacious lounge areas, these are also found set apart from the main hotel via a walkway which houses no less than 6 tropical aquariums. This area also has a family restaurant, pool and snack area. For a little more luxury there is the Kiko Suite which offers a child themed bedroom and two hours of free babysitting when parents sneak off for a meal at Isla de Lobos.

    There are a huge range of sporting activities to choose from, designated children's pools, lovely beaches and there are childen's menus at most of the restaurants. There is also the fantastic Kikoland for babes in arms all the way up to 18. It's a child's paradise with a family swimming pool, two kid's pools and a playground along with tennis courts, paddle courts, basket ball and beach volley ball. There's even an amphitheater showing live animation and welcoming in-house characters.

    The fun (and area) is handily split up into age groups with each group having their own character's house to 'play at' which is specific to their age and stage. Cooky's house is for babies and toddlers complete with cots, changing tables, small pool and playground. For 3 – 5 year olds there's Kiko's house with swings, playground and craft activities. Hooky House for ages 6-8 and Gremlyn for 9-12 have sports, games and activities and then Teeny Club for 12- 18 with everything you could wish for to keep those teenagers happy. Please note that younger ones aged between 0-2 must be accompanied by an adult at all times but all other houses have a staff entertainer to supervise.

    There is also Kikopark, beside the hotel's buffet restaurants, which is a large playground with gigantic sliders and ball pool enable parents to savour their meal in (relative) peace.

    In the evening during high season there are musical shows, themed family dinners and mini disco.

  • location

    An easy 30 minute drive from the airport, hire cars or taxis are available and parking is free at the hotel. Enjoy the unique moon-raker landscape as you make your way across the island and then the sparkling Atlantic as you arrive. The hotel itself is ideally located right on the beachfront of Playa Blanca (Lanzarote's newest resort) and sandwiched in between the Rubicon Marina and the lovely Old Town with all boutiques, café’s and holiday buzz within easy striking distance.
