Las Mimosas Swimming Pool
  • rooms

This fairy tale town resort has an enormous range of recently refurbished accommodation from which to choose. All are beautifully decorated and have panoramic views over the ocean or the tropical gardens. The Bahia del Duque offers standard double rooms with a king sized or two single beds and private balcony. Or choose from one of the many suites with their spacious living rooms, separate bedrooms and private balcony or terrace. For the ultimate address treat yourself to the colonial-style presidential suite with its grand sun drenched terrace and private jacuzzi.

For a little more exclusivity there is Casa Ducales – a private colonial style estate with private butlers, personalised service and private parking. Or indulge further and choose a luxurious home from home with one of the stunning villas. These are built from the volcanic stone of Tenerife and are private individual residences that offer one or two bedrooms, huge sun deck dining areas and private pools.

  • facilities & activities

Tenerife is known colloquially as 'the island of eternal spring' and with year round fabulous weather and some of nature's most dramatic scenery, the resort offers an array of activity and entertainment – the endless choice of which might rival a small town.

With five different cascading swimming pools (two are saltwater), your biggest decision will be on which sun drenched terrace to flop and enjoy the view of the sparkling Atlantic. Or follow the boardwalk down to the velvet soft sands of famous El Duque beach – the hotel has direct access to it and the huge variety of water based activities found there. Meander through the incredible 63,000sqm of sub-tropical botanical gardens (so vast it has its own bio climate) and enjoy the variety of palm trees, dragon trees, flame trees, cacti and incredible views. The hotel also has a huge range of activities for the energetic including squash, tennis, pitch and putt, giant chess and a gym – just to name a few. And agreements with five of the best local golf courses makes it an ideal stop for the golf enthusiast. Join the hotel's private and exclusive yacht for a day of luxury and unrivalled views of Tenerife's unique landscapes, stopping for a picnic and swim en route. And when you've had enough of all that activity then retreat to the tranquil Thalassotherapy spa to restore you mind and soothe your spirit.

The hotel's location gives easy access to some of Tenerife's famous beaches, attractions and nightlife. When you've explored the exclusive boutiques at the resort, Puerto Colon and Gran Sur Shopping centre are within 3km, as well as the shops and promenades on the local beaches. Exciting water sports such as kite boarding, scuba diving, paragliding and windsurfing are on the doorstep and offer some of the best natural conditions for a great ride. Or stay on land and explore the unique lunar landscapes with some great hiking routes or hire a bike from the hotel. Or just simply gaze at the stars from the observatory found at the top of the conservatory. The staff at the hotel are very helpful (and easy to find in their traditional local dress) and can give all kinds of advice as to the best activities for you.

  • dining

There is an extraordinary range of choice when it comes to dining options. Eight different restaurants offer all kinds of international fare along with thirteen bars and snack bars dotted throughout – just in case you needed to create your own burger or sip a cocktail on the way to the pool. Choose from opulent Las Aguas – run by Michelin starred chef Salvador Gallego – with its local wines, authentic Canarian dishes, seasonal local produce and a modern twist. Or sample the extensive buffet at El Bernegal and enjoy the spectacular views  from the terrace. There's also the choice of Italian, French or Asian cuisine or choose rustic Spanish treats at La Tasca. For less formal dining and a party vibe go to La Hacienda or The Beach Club which offer a Latino or Mediterranean choice.

  • family

With such a variety of choice on and off resort, the hotel is a great choice for families. Along with four main pools there is a dedicated children's pool, the beaches are safe for swimming and all the activities are child friendly. Younger children will love the fairy tale feel along with bridges and walkways that make even getting to the pool an adventure. There are teams of entertainers beside the kid's pool to keep them occupied or there is a mini 'Duqui Club' for age 3-12 which is open daily.

Teens are well catered for with their own dedicated 'teen lounge' that offers play station, table football, video library's, arcade and television. They'll love the cool Californian vibe too.

Kid friendly menus are available throughout, but if you prefer an evening 'a deux' then baby sitting or in-room childcare is available. There is a wide choice of spacious rooms – all of which are suitable for children. Additional cots can be requested and there are also dedicated family suites which offer two separate bedrooms and living spaces, along with private terraces and the obligatory spectacular views.
