The 10 semi-detached houses are home to 20 comfortable holiday apartments, including two larger deluxe options. All are equipped with modern amenities.

The ground floor features living room, television, radio, wifi, stove and kitchen area with microwave, dishwasher, fridge, coffee maker and kettle as well as kitchen utensils for those who prefer to self-cater. The sauna and drying cabinet for clothes are both practical and thoughtful additions. A twin bedroom can also be found on this level whilst on the first floor a second bedroom can be found. Smaller twins, suitable for children with a shower and toilet are also located in the loft.

For an extra treat, opt to hire a jacuzzi for your stay.

Ranua Wildlife Park offers adventure on your doorstep. Get to know more about the local residnets during your stay, perhaps even helping to give the polar bears their breakfast (extra charge applies). In winter, most visitors move around the park by sledge (included in the entrance fee),a hugley fun way to enjoy the arctic views.

Additional activities nearby include husky and reindeer sled rides as well as trips by snowmobile to see the Northern Lights. It's even rumoured that Santa has a secret cabin here, where he likes to relax before setting off on his Christmas delivery round...

Don't worry about getting too cold, in addition to the sauna in your apartment (and option to rent a jacuzzi), you will also be supplied with a super cosy 'all in one' so you can make the most of this magical setting!

On site you'll fine a restaurant. Breakfast is included in your room rate and you can upgrade to half-board if you self-catering doesn't appeal - after all, it is quite a hike to the nearest supermarket!

family

As always, that magic combination of fun activities and wildlife is a sure hit with children of all ages, and you have both in spades here. Even younger children are welcome to join in the various activities (if they are too little for a snowmobile, they can be pulled behind by sled!) and they are sure to love the animals at the zoo. Naturally, the highlight is very likely to be a vsit to see Santa!

The apartments, which sleep up to 6, are also very family friendly; a cosy retreat from the snow, with the option to self-cater if you are worried about the childrens appreciation of Finnish food.

location

The drive to your hotel is about an hour from Rovaniemi Airport, which is approx. a 1.5 hour flight north of Helsinki. The Holiday Village Gulo Gulo can arrange collection.

rates & specials

Rates vary according to occupancy of the apartment, but based on 4 people staying in winter, a guide price is £170 per night including breakfast, with a supplement applicable over the festive season, generally 23rd December - 10th January.
