Queensland, Australia
Known as the Sunshine State, it is warm all year round and its capital Brisbane sits at south, with the Sunshine Coast (Noosa) 2 hours drive away with sandy surf beaches, low rise, national parks, and the Gold Coast (white sandy surf beach, theme parks and high rise) to the south. Byron Bay, a relaxed surf town where national park meets surf beach is just 3 hours south.

Fly two hours north and snorkel the Great Barrier Reef from Hamilton Island (or hire a yacht and sail the Whitsunday passage), or see the Great Barrier Reef from Cairns or a stylish yet relaxed coastal town, Port Douglas. From Port Douglas, drive north to see the Daintree River and trek the rainforest at Cape Tribulation. With Reef and Rainforest in the north, and surf beaches and a café culture in the south, Queensland (often compared to Florida in the US) is a holiday favourite!
