The Main Lodge hosts 30 very comfortable en-suite safari tents, with fan, tea and coffee making facilities and a well equipped en-suite bathroom. The furniture is handmade by local craftsmen using natural materials and provides the comfort you would expect in a hotel room. They are protected against mosquitos and other possible intruders, just remember to zip up!

The Lodge on Cheow Larn Lake provides similar accommodation, but on floating platforms. It's a case of 'water, water, everywhere'! So we only recommend for good swimmers, although life jackets are available (minimum age 7 years)

A lovely pool is the focus of relaxation at the main camp, where as at the floating Rainforest camp, taking out a kayak must be the highlight of adventures here, with swimming taking place in the lake!

At main camp, evening entertainment is provided by the local schools, with some beautiful Thai dancing.

Elephant Hills offers packages of varying length of stay. With younger children who are not yet confident swimmers, we recommend a 3 day / 2 night package based at the main camp, whilst with older children, spend a night at each camp!

An example itinerary would be the Jungle Safari

1st Day Activities:-

• Elephant Hills Elephant experience - a chance to get up close to the largest land animal in Asia. Please note riding is not offered, it is a more interactive and respectful experience including the opportunity to scrub these gentle giants clean after their mud pool bath and feed them one of their daily meals!
• Canoe Safari down the Sok river (guided so you can sit back and relax!)
• Dance performances by a local school, cooking demonstrations and overnight stay

2nd Day Activities:- Whole day trip to Cheow Larn Lake including

• Boat Trip on Cheow Larn Lake
• Lunch at the Rainforest Camp where self paddle canoes are available to explore the area
• Return to Elephant Hills stopping at the local market to sample the local way of life
• Dance performances by a local school, cooking demonstrations and overnight stay

3rd Day Activities:

• Jungle Trekking by foot through Southern Thailand’s unique rainforest environment before an authentic Thai lunch in the jungle!
• Return to Elephant Hills then onward transfer to your hotel or the airport

dining

Plentiful, buffet style meals are served in the main guest area at long tables, with a nod to children who prefer plainer food (chips and perhaps a Thai version of chicken nuggets!). The staff are also happy to cater to special requests, for example additional vegetarian food.

family

The Lodge welcomes children from the age of 4 and it's gentle adventure is a great introduction to holidays with a difference! With older children, although wifi can be found in the central reception / dining area, this is a chance to put those electronics away and get out the playing cards!

An extra bed can be placed in a twin or double tent, or adjacent tents allocated, they are close by; you can hear if they start to squabble over use of the bathroom!

location

Located in Khao Sok National Park, home to the oldest evergreen rainforest in the world, with huge limestone mountains as a backdrop.   Elephant Hills will collect guests from Phuket, Krabi and even off the ferry from Koh Samui. If possible, we recommend staying a few nights in Khao Lak prior, approximately a 90 minute drive away from the Camp.

Phuket is services by international flights via the Middle East or domestic flights from Bangkok or other internal airports.
