Kandy House, Kandy & The Hill Country

rooms

All the rooms are named after butterflies and are styled individually, incorporating local fabrics, eclectic and elegant furniture and modern amenities. There are 4 Ultra Rooms which are the larger room type and these all have access onto a verandah, with chaise longues, reading chairs and tables for private dining. The Black Rajah Ultra Room can be interconnected with the imaginatively named Deluxe Monkey Puzzle Room.

The five Deluxe Rooms are slightly smaller than the Ultra Rooms and do not all have a private veranda. Two are twin rooms without baths but have showers. 

facilities & activities

The hotel boasts a  beautiful infinity pool in the garden, croquet lawn and a library of DVDs, books and board games. Bicycles are available so you can explore the area by yourself and there is a golf course within easy reach. With only 9 bedrooms, the Kandy House is more a private villa than a hotel. 

dining

Meals are served on the verandah and are prepared by the chef who shops daily for fresh ingredients. At least twice a week, the 10 curry feast is served but the kitchen are happy to accommoate more western tastes. 

family

Children over the age of 11 are welcome – one extra bed can be accommodated in the Ultra rooms.

location

Only 10 minutes by tuk-tuk from The Temple of the Tooth and Kandy town, the hotel is 3 hours by car from Colombo. It is also close to Peradeniya train station for trains into the hill country and you are also only 2 hours from the Cultural Triangle.
