    Bright, stylish and modern, the 238 guest rooms have ample space and are adorned with all the mod-cons you’d need, from flat screen TVs to high speed internet access. Beds are comfortable, with pristine sheets and plumped pillows. Sheraton Club Rooms offer upgraded amenities, including access to the pool, sauna, and Sheraton Club Lounge, which offers complimentary breakfast, afternoon snacks and a selection of beverages. The five suites are a cut above, with extra space and contemporary marble ensuites.

    Travellers looking to stick to their fitness regime while away from home are well catered for, with a smart, wood-floored gym that’s open 24 hours a day. It features top-of-the-range Technogym treadmills, as well as other cardio machines and free weights. The Shine Spa is just the spot to recharge your batteries, offering a range of treatments such as foot baths, couples massages and facials. There’s also a lovely indoor swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi for extra pampering. Under-16s must fill out a liability waiver and be accompanied by a parent or guardian to use the pool. They are not allowed to use the jacuzzi.

    Rooms are pleasantly spacious for families travelling together, with interconnecting rooms available. Upgrade to a suite for extra space (they feature lounge areas and baths with separate showers). You can also book an extra rollaway bed (at a supplement of 5,000 JPY per night) or a cot. Children aged four to 12 receive a discounted rate (around half price) on food at Bridges restaurant.

    The hotel’s location is one of its highlights. Set right next to Hiroshima station, it’s within an easy walk of many of the top sights, including Hiroshima Castle and the Atomic Bomb Dome. It’s set around 50km west of Hiroshima Airport, and a one-hour taxi transfer costs around 12,000 JPY (one way). A bus transfer costs around 1,340 JPY (one way).
