facilities & activities
For value-for-money, try Flatdogs’ Safari Package, which includes game drives and walking safaris at a good rate. Each open vehicle take a maximum of six guests, and the expert safari guides are passionate about the park and full of fascinating insights into its flora and fauna. dining
Seating around 45 people either beneath the thatched roof, in the courtyard or garden overlooking the river, the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and in a wonderful setting. There are no fixed timings for meals, giving you greater flexibility throughout the day.
Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets are catered for, and the bistro-style menu uses fresh, local ingredients wherever possible. Vegetables are grown in the camp garden and are picked hours before being served on a plate. Don’t miss the local staple meal of nshima with a vegetable, fish or chicken relish, and the nachos with tangy pawpaw chutney. There is also a bar with sofas, cafe tables and WiFi access, where a refreshing mojito is just the tonic after a day on safari.

family
Flatdogs is a family-friendly camp, with children welcome all year round. There’s also a children's menu in the restaurant with flexible serving times. And for those looking for some time to themselves, there’s also a good nanny service.
Accommodation options include a family tent with a double bed and two single beds – and chalets, which feature two bedrooms and bathrooms and are ideal for families as children can walk through to their parents’ room without having to go outside. There is also a larger family chalet with three bedrooms and viewing deck that looks out towards the Luangwa river.
If the spend range allows, consider booking tented Croc's Nest or Jackalberry Tree House, both offering two bedrooms.
