South Luangwa National Park, Zambia
Accessible by light aircraft, South Luangwa is generally considered the finest park in Zambia. Renowned for its particularly high standard of guiding and concentration of game, it is set in a broad valley, focusing on the meandering Luangwa River and bordered by the Rift Escarpment. Crocodiles and hippo make the waterways their home, whilst enormous herds of buffalo and elephants live alongside. Plains game, including the rare Sable, provide plentiful bounty for the resident lion and leopard population.
