Accommodation is scattered across three camps at the Lodge. The North and South Camp are each made up of 12 suites and the Tree Camp of 6 suites.

Each stilted suite is sumptuously furnished with panelled walls and floors made of Tanzanian hardwoods, rich raw silk curtains, hand beaded chandeliers, gilt mirrors, a fireplace and a butler’s lobby. Ensuite bathroom with a centrepiece of red roses has twin hand basins, shower, chandelier lit bathtub and separate w.c. All rooms are equipped with in room safe, telephone and hairdryer and feature decks with magnificent views of the Crater floor, the ultimate 'room with a view'.

Daily game drives into the Crater occur in closed safari vehicles with pop-up roofs in search of the famous wildlife in the morning or afternoon. For Birdwatchers, half-day trips to Olduvai Gorge and Shifting Sands can be arranged (subject to vehicle availability). Optional activities at an additional cost include walking on the Crater rim, a cultural Maasai manyatta visit, and sundowners overlooking the Crater on one side and the Serengeti on the other, what a jawdropping experience!

Each camp has a sitting room and viewing decks to soak in the world-famous views. Unique interior design incorporates woven banana bark ceiling, with hand beaded chandeliers, carved and gilded wall plaques, brocade sofas, Persian carpets, candles and bowls of red roses.

The domed dining room with its welcoming fireplace, crystal, silver and massive wooden platters makes every meal a special occasion. Memorable meals can also be enjoyed on the expansive viewing decks.  Due to it's altitude, evening dining can be a little chilly, so take something to wrap up warm so you can enjoy the views from both inside and out!

Private bush breakfasts and lunches on the Crater floor can also be arranged if you are seeking to share a truly spectacular experience.

family

Children are welcome at this spectacular Lodge, however children 5 years and younger cannot participate in the regular game drives whilst children aged 6 to 11 years are able to join the game drives subject to good behaviour! The lodge is not fenced so guests are required to be extremely vigilant at all times.

On arrival at &Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, each child will receive a WILDchild branded bag containing a logbook, crayons, pencils and a paw print tattoo. Children activities include the Day Out with the Massai, throwing spear with Massai Warrior or Beading with Massai ‘Mammas’. Children can also enjoy baking in the kitchen and sing for life.

Childminding is available at an additional cost and bespoke meals can be prepared as and when required.

Triple rooms available for families at North and South Camps with one child under 16 able to share. Regretfully no triples can be accommodated at the Tree Camp. There is also a Family Suite with 2 bedrooms but book early for this!

The Ngorongoro Crater is the remains of a once massive volcano, nearly three million years old, on the eastern border of the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. It is one of the Wonders of the World and a designated World Heritage Site and remains perfectly formed for the most spectacular calderas on the planet.

The Crater is an approx 3 hour drive from Arusha Airport, serviced via non-direct flights from the UK.  Due to its location, as a destination it combines well with a trip to Tarangire and Manyara prior and the Serengeti after.
